JT Mabry (DeSmet, 2018) attended the Mid-Eastern Missouri Open and the Top Prospect Games - MOKAN this summer. Here more in depth look at the switch-hitting shortstop.
PBR: Are you looking for anything in particular in a school? (Example: high academics, certain academic program, local, etc.)
Mabry: I am looking for not only a good baseball school but I am looking for a place that I can get a good education as well. Baseball doesn’t last forever so I think that it is important to have an education to allow me to do other things.
PBR: How did you do your junior year? What were your high school statistics? And how did your team do?
Mabry: I had a decent junior season at De Smet. I started out slow at the plate but managed to turn it around toward the end of the season. We had a disappointing ending after beating CBC on a walkoff, we ended up losing to Parkway North in the District Finals.
PBR: What are you goals for your senior season?
Mabry: My goals for this season include All Conference honors, winning our conference again, and winning a district title.
PBR: What travel team do you play for? Are you playing fall ball with a team?
Mabry: I played for the Warriors in the summer and am playing with Elite Baseball Academy run by Denton McNamee and Jacob Buffa this fall.
PBR: Do you play any other sports?
Mabry: I do not play any other sports anymore.
PBR: What are your ACT and GPA?
Mabry: I had a 3.9 both semesters last year and I got a 27 on my ACT.
