Player Spotlight: SS Jordan Fitzpatrick (Logan-Rogersville, 2017)

Jordan Fitzpatrick (Logan-Rogersville, 2017) is a 6-foot 175-pound left-handed hitting shortstop in Missouri’s 2017 class.  Fitzpatrick attended the All-State Winter workout in February. There, he ran a 3.97 home to first, and had an exit velo of 94 mph.  Both were one of top of the event.

At the plate, Fitzpatrick has an open stance with leg kick, slightly closed stride, and aggressive/quick hands.  He has fast bat speed, power to pull side making hard consistent contact during batting practice. 

On the infield, he had an 80 mph positional velo, with athletic actions, and quick feet. He gains ground towards first with a high three quarters arm slot. His arm works, and he has an athletic build with projection.

Fitzpatrick is among the top players in Missouri's  2017 class and is currently attending camps this fall.  Here is a look inside the recruiting process for Jordan Fitzpatrick. 

PBR: Are you looking for anything in particular in a school? (Example: high academics, certain academic program, local, etc.).

Fitzpatrick: Good academics and playing in a top Conference.

PBR: How did you do your junior year? What were your high school statistics? And how did your team do?

Fitzpatrick: Team did not do as well as in the past. 12 Wins and 16 Losses .We did make it to the District Championship. I was pitched around a lot and intentionally walked several times. Ended up hitting .370 while walking 20 times in less than 100 plate appearances and scored over 30 runs with a HR in 28 games. I was put in the Lead off spot so they could get me to the plate as much as possible. I was a unanimous selection for 1st Team All Conf and 1st Team All District. Selected to play in the East – West All Star game at Hammons field and was also selected to play for Team Missouri in the Junior Sunbelt. Also received a selection for the Area Code games tryouts for the Chicago White Sox for which I was a top 100 selection in the 5 State area and also the same selection for Team USA. Because of injury I chose not to go any further with the selection process. Also All USA Today American Family selection for Preseason and after Season selection.

PBR: What are you goals for your senior season?

Fitzpatrick: Getting my Team back to the State playoffs and also play well in front of the Pro scouts that have showed interest in me to position myself for the MLB draft.

PBR: What travel team do you play for? Are you playing fall ball with a team?

Fitzpatrick: The Arkansas Express and Coach Greg Baxendale (501) 733-5447 out of Fayetteville , Ark. Hit .455 this summer with 4HR  in 88 AB’S and a slugging avg of .787 and OPS over .1200. 33 RBI in 33 games
