OUTLOOK:

The Panthers got a taste of success in 2013. That taste has the players chomping at the bit to start their 2014 campaign. Forsyth returns most of their players from their 2013 district championship team. They only lost 3 position players and 0 pitchers that posted 15 or more innings. The SWCL schedule will post a big challenge, as there are 3 teams in the top 10 preseason Missouri Class 3 rankings. Central Methodist commit Logan Horner and Senior Justin Burrow look to lead a large group of underclassmen. Coach Jim Julian is looking for significant contribution from Junior Jay Kaufman and Sophomore speedster Jeff Schanda. The 2013 MHSBCA “Louisville Slugger Newcomer of the Year” Sophomore Layn Hurst will continue his impressive start to his high school career. The Forsyth Panthers’ best days are ahead of them and Coach Julian can’t reign in his excitement much longer.
