By Nathan Rode and PBR Staff

There has been a flurry of updates to rankings in recent weeks with the Overall Rankings for the 2017 and 2018 classes being shuffled, as well as the PBR Draft 100. Coming soon will be a fresh edition of the 2019 Overall Rankings. Looking ahead to that, The Hotlist highlights some sophomores on the rise.

Mason Auer, RHP/OF/SS, Kickapoo HS, MO
Auer, who stands at 6 feet, 160 pounds, runs a 6.68-second 60 and gets down the line in 4.2 seconds. At the plate, he stars with a wide stance and takes a smooth, controlled load. He has quick hands that create a fast bat and he takes a middle to pull approach. He throws 90 from the outfield with an over-the-top arm slot. He also plays the infield, where he has quick feet and fluid actions. On the mound, he sits 80-83, flashing late arm-side run. His curveball is sharp at times at 67-72 with 12/6 action. He also commands a changeup at 76.
