Two Top Class of 2014 Players Commit and Other Recruiting News



Class of 2014 Keith Grieshaber from Marquette HS has committed to Arkansas. Grieshaber is the 10th player from Team Missouri of the Midwest Future Games to commit, and the third to Arkansas; joining RHP/SS Storm Rynard and OF Jack Benninghoff. Currently ranked No. 9 in the Missouri Class of 2014, Grieshaber has explosive speed and is an aggressive and smart base runner. At the Midwest Future Games, Grieshaber showed good instincts and range from both MIF positions with a plus arm (86 mph), his tools and projectability translate well at the next level. 

Class of 2014 OF Nick Allgeyer from Vianney has committed to Iowa. Allgeyer has seen a steady rise in the rankings the past few years, and now is ranked No. 26. In the outfield, Allgeyer shows fluid and controlled footwork to the ball, while playing through the ball with all throws on a line and a top throw of 85-mph. At the plate, the left handed hitter has a slightly open stance with a smooth load and good rhythm and balance throughout his swing. He takes a level path to the baseball and showed ability to hit line drives to all fields.  Allgeyer had a top exit velocity of 87-mph.

 

In other recruiting news:
A pair of Eureka HS seniors have made their college commitments. Adam Schnurbush will continue his baseball career at Southwest Illinois College (SWIC) and Jeff Jinkerson will be attending Quincy University. 

Two Chaminade Class of 2013 players have also decided where they will continue their careers. Brendan Carney will be headed to William Jewel College and Ryan Kiernan will be going to MacMurray College.
