Uncommitted JUCO Spotlight: Kannon Nesslage

As the JUCO season starts to wind down, we'll be highlighting several players from across the state's junior college programs that impressed at our scout days this fall and are having strong seasons for their respective clubs.

Today we'll shine some light on RHP Kannon Nesslage, who's an upside arm with intriguing stuff at Jefferson JC. A former standout quarterback recruit, Nesslage's stature jumps at first glance, as he's built at a long, lanky 6-foot-7, 210-pounds with lean limbs. His ability to get down the mound at his size is something he'll use to his advantage, as Nesslage threw all three of his pitches at the Jefferson JC Scout Day last fall at over seven feet of extension on average, per TrackMan. His fastball sat in the upper-80s, though we've heard he's ticked up even moreso this spring, and he landed both of his secondaries for strikes - an upper-70s slider with sweep and a splitter that flashed swing-and-miss tumble.

Nesslage has toed the rubber 10 times for the Vikings this spring, all out of the 'pen, and he's logged 24 1/3 innings under his belt while punching out 31. Learn more about the uncommitted right-hander below.
