Joseph Costanzo (Rockhurst, MO) set the pace at the event, running an event best 7.08 60. Not far behind was Dan Favazza (St. Louis University, MO) at 7.11.
As if being 6-foot-8, 255-pounds did not make Jase Wallingford (Quincy Notre Dame, IL) stand out already, his 89 mph fastball, an event best, certainly added to it. Justin Lamp (Carmi-White, IL) and Alex Foppe (St. Marys, MO) followed up Wallingford by topping out at 86 mph.
Kyle Weber (Marshall, MO) took home the crown in exit velocity, registering a 99 mph. Physical 1B Andrew Fox (Rockhurst, MO) was runner-up, recording a 97 mph exit velocity.
3B/OF
Cole Hampton (Edwardsville, IL) showed impressive arm strength posting the top velocity across the infield (87 mph) as well as one of the top velocities from the outfield (89 mph).
Trevor Durand (Mt. Zion, IL) was the only prospect at the event to touch 90 mph, with a loose, whip-like arm action. Durand should see continued advancement in arm strength as he matures.
AJ Spinello (Rockhurt, MO) and Nicholas Fuller (Liberty North, MO) posted the event's top pop times at 2.00 and 2.04, respectively. Josiah Steen (Homeschool, MO) was the most consistent catcher, seeing only a .07 second variance between pop times.
Arm strength was comparable throughhout this crop of catchers. Steen leads the way at 73 mph but is followed closely by five other catching prospects who posted 72 mph.
