Central Region Watchlist: Top Uncommitted 2027 Prospects

Max Semler, former 30-year scout, takes a look at the top uncommitted 2027 players from Arkansas, Kansas, Missouri, and Oklahoma. Players are listed by state and in order of each state’s rankings. Following each summation of tools and ability, you will find the player’s summer team.
Koen Isaacson | MIF | Edmond Memorial (OK) | 5’10”, 173 | L/R
Athletic with frame/build to add strength. 6.56 60, WAA runner with quickness present and ability to get SBs. Actions present on the infield; shows first-step quickness moving to the baseball. Simple hitting approach, short to the baseball, creating line-drive contact. Hit over power.
Summer Team: Dulins Dodgers Prime 2027
Landon Schmidt | OF | Edmond Memorial (OK) | 6’0”, 203 | R/R
Solid build with strength. Plus runner, 6.60 60. Quickness present. Defensively, can play all three outfield spots. Simple hitting approach; lands in position to hit after stride. Has bat speed, can impact baseball. Strength and athleticism present; will have solid bat/power combo.
Summer Team: Dulins Dodgers Prime 2027
Mason Rainbolt | RHP | Checotah (OK) | 5’10”, 184 | R/R
Solid build/frame, strength to lower present; strength will continue to develop. Full circle, works well, showing arm speed from an OH slot. FB up to 92, works 88-90. Ability to work up/down with FB; carry present up, showing swing-and-miss ability. Tail and tail/sink down. SL with solid spin, 2400+, action/depth. Change with fade. Projects for a tick up in velo.

Tristan Tomlin | CF | Deer Creek (OK) | 6’2”, 187 | R/R
Great build/frame to add strength. WAA runner at past event with a 6.58 60, solid mover on the baseball field. Defensively, can play CF with plus range present. Knee lift, short stride, lands in position to hit. Line-drive contact. Hit over power. Athlete with feel for his ability at the plate.
Summer Team: Sandlot Glad
Jamie Billups | LHP | Blue Springs South (MO) | 6’6”, 212 | L/L
Long/lanky, projects to add strength. Repeats delivery, arm works with extension; arm speed will firm with strength. FB velo will increase, presently works 85-87 and touches 89. FB has tail action increasing to arm side. Change with sink, quality pitch. SL with short action; CB shows depth with 2900+ spin rate. Starter, upside.
Summer Team: US Nationals
Mason Young | RHP | Webb City (MO) | 6’4”, 190 | R/R
Tall, lanky build, projects for future strength. Solid delivery, arm works. Shows arm speed. FB works 87-90, tops at 92. Attributes present for velo spike. Arm-side tail. Effective FB when in zone. Change with action/deception; shows feel for pitch. CB developing, short breaker. Look for velo spike. Will throw hard.
Summer Team: US Nationals Midsouth White
Corde Gage | CF | Christian Brothers College (MO) | 6’1”, 185 | R/R
Athletic, great build/frame to add strength. Plus runner, 6.68 60, with acceleration/quickness. Range present in OF, glides to the baseball. EZ swing with hard contact when barreled. Shows feel to hit in games. Presently, hit over power with upside to impact. Interesting player.

Henry Ladenberger | 1B/3B | Chaminade (MO) | 6’2”, 214 | R/R
Solid build/frame, projects well for adding strength; see as a strong, physical player. Defensively, will develop into an avg defender at first. Hard contact off barrel, showing raw power. Top exit velo of 107. Potential middle-of-the-lineup bat for a college in the future.

Nathanael Eakins | RHP | Logan-Rogersville (MO) | 6’0”, 185 | R/R
Solid build/frame, showing strength to lower; can add increased strength. Arm works, shows arm speed. FB tops at 90, arm-side tail/sink present. Quality slider action, feel for pitch. Avg spin 2300+. Change with fade action and developing deception. Around the zone with stuff. Starter attributes for college.
Summer Team: Inevitable A’s 17U National
Matthew Burns | RHP | Willard (MO) | 5’10”, 170 | R/R
Solid build/frame, lower showing strength. Arm works with arm speed; some effort present. FB touches 91; look for velo to increase. Arm-side tail, FB around the zone. Short-breaking cutter action to slider. Change shows deception and ability to kill spin. Athletic on the mound.
Summer Team: 17U US National Midsouth Blue
Grant Alderson | RHP | Fayetteville (AR) | 6’1”, 191 | R/R
Solid build/frame to add strength, lower showing strength now. Arm works, opportunities to firm delivery. FB has been up to 89 with tail action. Blended-action breaking ball with 2400+ spin rate. Change with fade/sink. Look for velo to make a jump.
Summer Team: Franklin Scout 17U BTD
Kel Mcentire | C | White Hall (AR) | 6’2”, 222 | R/R
Great build/frame to add strength, lower has strength now. Receives well, hands work, ability to frame. Quickness to release, can develop carry to throws. Ability to impact the baseball, showing raw power. Development opportunities.

Zayne Walker | INF | Rogers Heritage (AR) | 5’10”, 172 | L/R
Frame/build to add strength. 6.92 60. Actions on the infield, feet work moving to the baseball, shows body control. Solid hitting approach, gets on plane, creating line-drive contact. Hit over power; impact will develop with added strength. Can handle the bat.
Summer Team: Midland Midwest
Ryan Mullen | CF | Little Rock Christian Academy (AR) | 5’11”, 170 | R/R
Athletic, build/frame to add strength. Solid mover, 6.59 60, with acceleration/quickness present. Speed to play CF, plus range. Solid approach to hit with line-drive contact. Hit over power, can get to gaps for extra bases.
Summer Team: Marucci Mid-West 17U Bane
Connor McCool | INF | Shawnee Mission South (KS) | 5’10”, 180 | R/R
Solid build/frame with ability to add more strength. Plus runner, 6.72 60. Actions present on defense, quickness to first step, makes plays on the move. Simple hitting approach, short path to the baseball, gets on plane for line-drive contact. Works gap to gap, finds barrel. Stays in the middle on defense, hit over power, safe bet to hit.

Drew Strecker | RHP | Garden City (KS) | 6’1”, 220 | R/R
Solid build/frame, lower strength. Arm works with arm speed. Repeats delivery. FB has touched 90, worked 86-88 at Sr FG Games. Two-seam with tail, carry up. CB 73-75, varies action with depth present. Change with fade action. Two-sport athlete—football.
Skyler Bernbeck | INF | Blue Valley (KS) | 5’9”, 165 | R/R
Build/frame to add strength. Solid athleticism. 6.86 60. Defensive versatility, developing actions on the infield. Steady outfielder with ability to play all three OF spots. Solid contact off barrel, opportunities for development at the plate. Flashes pull-side power. Player who can help a team in many ways.

Micah Gray | RHP | Emporia (KS) | 6’1”, 190 | R/R
Solid build, will add strength. Full circle, works well. FB touches 89, works 85-88 with arm-side tail. Slider 75-78 with sweep action and occasional depth. Look for velocity to make a jump.
Summer Team: Kansas Curve 18U Baca
Isaac Holt | OF | Andover (KS) | 6’4”, 215 | R/R
Great build/frame to add strength. 6.87 60. Gets in solid position to hit, plus HS bat speed with ability to impact the baseball. Aggressive swinger. Steady defender in OF with plenty of raw arm strength to play RF. Upside to bat/power combo. Two-sport athlete—TE/DE in football.
Summer Team: 16U Cervantez - Wichita Wildcats
Jett Wood | INF | St. Thomas Aquinas (KS) | 6’0”, 173
Projects for adding strength. Plus runner, 6.80 60. Actions on the infield with defensive versatility. Gets into position to hit, on-plane swing producing line-drive contact. Upside to impact with added strength. Player who will continue to develop.
Summer Team: Building Champions Navy
Jamison Rice | OF | Olathe South (KS) | 6’4”, 181 | R/R
Great build/frame to add strength. 7.10 60. Corner outfielder, will be a steady defender. Arm strength and carry to play RF. Gets into position to hit, plus HS bat/hand speed now. Projecting raw power to develop.
