On Tuesday, June 11th, Prep Baseball Kansas made our annual trip to Creekside Baseball Park in Parkville, MO, to host the Kansas City Top Prospect Games. This invite-only event featured a multitude of the state's top prospects, representing Kansas and  Missouri's 2025-to-2028 classes, with over 80+ players set to attend.

All of our events offer players the opportunity to update their recruiting resume and showcase their talents in front of our staff. We also use these events as identifiers for future invite-only events, like the Preseason All-State, our summer Top Prospect Games, and the prestigious Prep Baseball Future Games that takes place at the tail end of the summer.

Today, after combing through our notes from the day, we’ve compiled some of the event’s standouts below within these ‘Quick Hits’.

PITCHERS

+ One of the top uncommitted arms in the Kansas 2025 class, RHP Colton Roberts (Rose Hill) continued to show why he is a must see arm on the mound. Featuring a long, 6-foot-4, 195-pound frame, Roberts shut down hitters over his two innings of work. The senior ran his fastball up to an event leading 88.9 mph with plenty of natural carry up in the zone. With that he commanded both sides of the plate with a sweeping swing and miss slider at 77-80 mph that he threw in all counts, keeping hitters off balance. 

+ As physical and as strong as they come at 6-foot-5, 245-pounds, RHP Roch Emanuel (Piper, 2026) was another standout arm on the mound from this event. An athletic mover down the mound that produces effortless velocity, Emanuel pitched in the mid-80s with his fastball, peaking at 88.6 mph with 2, 200+ RPM spin. The junior also showed the aptitude to command three offspeed pitches for strikes with a curveball at 69-70 mph, a slider at 74-75 mph, and a changeup at 68-75 mph. 

+ RHP Zane Shaw (Lawrence Free State, 2026) is one of the fastest rising arms in the state. In Tuesday’s look, the junior featured a fastball that jumped out of the hand, peaking at 88.5 mph and showing ride through the zone with an average vertical break of 18.8 inches. Paired with that was an impressive 12/6 curveball at 66-69 mph with 2,200+ RPM peak spin that played with depth. 

+ Coming off a strong spring with Seaman High School, RHP Lucas Cross (2025) is a high-motor name to keep an eye on this summer. The uncommitted senior is built with length and long levers in a lean 6-foot-3, 175-pound frame with plenty of room to add strength. On the mound, Cross pitched at 83-87 mph with his fastball with arm side run and 2,300+ RPM average spin, topping out at 88.4 mph on the day. Additionally, the righty constantly spun two-high spin breaking balls with a curveball at 68-72 mph and a 75-76 mph slider to pair, with both reaching 2,500+ RPM of average spin. 

+ LHP Carter Rose (Shawnee Mission East, 2025) put together one of the day’s most dominant performances on the mound, fooling hitters with complete command of a four-pitch mix over two innings of work. A strong-bodied athlete at 6-foot, 193-pounds, Rose showcased a 84-86 mph fastball that played with an average of 16+ inches of natural armside run, reaching 22 inches at times. His best secondary pitch at the moment looks to be his curveball which he threw at 70-71 mph while showing a tight spinning slider in the 70’s as well as a changeup at 74-76 mph. 

+ RHP/1B Quincy Koehn (Maize, 2027), a top-5 prospect in Kansas’ 2027 class, impressed our staff once again in Tuesday’s look. With no shortage of size in a 6-foot-4, 205-pound frame, Koehn pitched at 82-84 mph with his fastball, reaching 86 mph on his best bullet. Off that, Koehn spun a tight slider at 70 mph and a splitter at 73-74 mph that plays with heavy sink in the lower quadrant of the zone.  

+ Another uncommitted junior that caught our eye was RHP James Quance (Shawnee Mission East, 2026). At 5-foot-11, 154-pounds, Quance’s fastball played at 84-85 mph with natural run (13.4”) from a whippy ¾ arm slot with more to come as he adds both strength and size. He also spun a swing and miss slider at 68-69 mph.

HITTERS

+ OF Evan Abbott (Staley, 2025) flashed impressive tools on both sides of the ball in Tuesday’s look. To kick off the day, the 6-foot-2, 191-pound Abbott showed off his athleticism, posting the top 60 yard dash time of the day with a 6.53 mark to go along with a 31.6 inch vertical - top 5 in the event. At the plate the senior swung a powerful left-handed barrel, sending his best ball 378 feet at 99 mph. That strength at the plate transferred over to the field where Abbott fired a 82 mph bullet from the outfield.

+ INF Fletcher Noblit (Shawnee Mission East, 2025) is a name to keep an eye on this summer. Built with quick twitch in 5-foot-9, 160-pound frame, Noblit ran one of the top 60’s at the event with a 6.78 make while continuing to be a reliable defender up the middle with a 83 infield velocity. At the plate, the senior showed feel for the barrel in a controlled swing with a line drive approach.

+ At 6-foot-2, 171-pounds, INF Sawyer Newton (Manhattan, 2026) is an upside athlete to know from this event. A top-20 player in the states’ 2026 class, the junior saw considerable jumps in almost all of his metrics since our last look this past winter. Using his long-levers at the plate, the lefty reached exit velocities upwards of 93.3 mph, consistently finding the barrel to the pull side. Newton also showed polish on the infield with a 87 mph bullet across the diamond to pair with a 6.81 60 time.

+ Coming off strong springs with one of the top teams in the state, teammates OF Luke Sahrmann (Olathe West, 2025) and C Micah McGavran (Olathe West, 2025) continued their success with a strong showing in this event. Sahrmann showed off his offensive-skill set at the plate, displaying a short, powerful stroke that produced a max exit velocity of 97.7 mph and sending his best ball 379 feet, while running a 6.81 60, and firing a 82 mph bullet from the outfield. McGavran continues to be one of the top uncommitted follows in the state, standing at a physical 6-foot-3, 226-pounds and packed with strength. At the plate, McGavran created natural lift, launching balls 394 feet in BP with a peak exit velocity of 100.3 mph (93.1 mph average). Behind the plate, he moved extremely well, showing off his quick transfer and soft hands with 1.94 - 2.12 pop times.

+ OF Petyon Magness (Blue Valley West, 2025) is another upside athlete to keep an eye on this summer. The 6-foot-3, 165-pound uncommitted senior possessed a simple left-handed barrel that produced a max exit velocity of 91.4 mph with more to come as he adds strength. Defensively, Magness posted a 81 mph mark from the outfield and showcased clean, athletic actions to pair with a 6.88 60 time.

+ OF/RHP Eli Sitzer (Pembroke Hill, 2025) had a strong showing on both sides of the ball in this look. Sitzer was consistently on his barrel throughout his BP round, driving the ball through the middle of the field with a simple, compact, right-handed swing. Still developing power, which should come as he adds strength to his frame, Sitzer produced a peak exit velocity of 93.6 mph in this look. Additionally, the 6-foot-3, 180-pound athlete was up to 87 mph from the outfield, while running a 6.90 second 60. On the mound, Sitzer ran his fastball up to 85 mph with a curveball/splitter mix to pair.

+ Physical and compact at 5-foot-10, 182-pounds, INF Mitchel Kramer (Sabetha, 2025) had strength and athleticism that was evident on both sides of the ball in Tuesday’s look. Kramer showed bat speed in a fluid right handed swing that showed an uptick in exit velocity from our previous looks with a 93.6 mph mark. On the infield, the senior showed fluid and clean actions that should see him stick on the dirt at the next level with a 83 mph velocity on his firmest throw to pair. Additionally, Kramer ran a 6.97 60.

+ Packed with strength and physicality in a 6-foot-2, 248-pound frame, C/1B Danny Napier III (Louisburg, 2026) was a high-motor standout from this event. Napier put together one of the loudest BP rounds on the day, staying on the barrel with a 96.8 mph average exit velocity and 102.6 mph peak - both top marks at the event. The junior also flashed raw power, sending his furthest ball 393 feet. Behind the dish, Napier posted 1.89-2.07 pop times with true arm strength (T78 mph) while also showing feel for footwork around the bag at first base. His athleticism was on full display with a 6.96 60 time.

+ OF Cole Chinnock (Shawnee Mission East, 2025) and INF/OF Logan Sutton (Liberty, 2026) are two upside prospects with athletic right-handed strokes to keep an eye on from this event. Chinnock, who stands at a strong 5-foot-11, 190-pounds, reached a peak exit velocity of 97.9 mph at the plate while posting a 84 mph mark from the outfield while Sutton reached 96.4 mph at the plate and fired a 85 mph bullet from the outfield to go along with a 6.65 60 time - the second best mark on the day. 

+  Coming off a breakout spring for the Bison, INF Haiden Peterson (Shawnee Mission North, 2026) impressed our staff in Tuesday’s look. A lean 6-foot, 151-pound quick-twitch athlete with tools on both sides of the ball, Peterson swung a quick, right-handed barrel in BP, that works flat through the zone and sprays line drives to all fields. With more power to come as he adds strength, the junior sent his best ball 337 feet at 94.4 mph. Peterson is fluid and rhythmic on the infield with sure-handed glove work and comfortability on the move.

+ INF Noah Davis (Leavenworth, 2026) continues to see his stock rise after an impressive spring season and another strong performance here. An easy swinger from the left side of the plate, Davis has a knack for finding barrels to the pull-side, posting a peak exit velocity of 94.3 mph and a 357 peak batted distance. Defensively, Davis showed reliable hands and a 78 mph velocity across the diamond.   

+ INF Steven Zimbelman (Basehor-Linwood, 2026) was on the barrel throughout his BP round with a short, simple, swing that produced line drives through the middle of the field and a max exit velocity of 90.3 mph, sending his furthest ball 335 feet. Defensively, Zimbelman topped 85 mph across the infield.

+ INF Will Ray (St. Thomas Aquinas, 2026) is an uncommitted junior to keep an eye on that continues to see considerable jumps in his metrics from this winter. Ray showed off his offensive skill-set from the right side of the plate, displaying a compact stroke and a top exit velocity of 92.9 mph. Defensively, he showed well on the infield, with clean fielding actions and a 85 mph peak velocity.

+ Another all-round strong showing came from a top-20 prospect in Kansas’ 2026 class in OF Drake Blasi (Maize, 2027). Packed with strength in a compact 5-foot-10, 185-pound frame, Blasi possesses a mature approach in the box, with a rotational, compact swing from the left side that naturally elevates balls pull-side. The sophomore put together an impressive round of BP, barreling his furthest ball 348 feet at a 92.5 mph exit velocity. His strength played in the field as well, firing a 87 mph bullet from the outfield. 

+ Another uncommitted backstop to note, C Daxton Grissom (Olathe South, 2026), carried over his strong performance from the 6A state tournament into Tuesday’s event. At 6-foot-2, 193-pounds with plenty of room to add strength, Grissom started off the day by posting a 6.73 60 to pace all catchers. In BP, Grissom elevated the ball from gap to gap, using a connected, repeatable swing. Behind the plate, the junior showed off a quick transfer, throwing out multiple runners during game play as he continues to polish his skills.

+ INF Cade Martinez (De Soto, 2025) looked the part on both sides of the ball in Tuesday’s event. Martinez’s offensive skill-set was on display from both sides of the plate, displaying a short, simple, stroke that produced a max exit velocity of 91.3 mph. Defensively, the senior played a sound infield, reaching 81 mph on his firmest ball across the diamond.

+ OF Braden Roberts (Trinity Academy, 2025) is an upside 5-foot-10, 163-pound prospect with a simple right-handed stroke that was up to 87 mph from the outfield on his hardest throw to third while also running a 6.91 60 to pair.

TWO-WAYS

+ OF/RHP Eli Dean (Perry-Lecompton, 2025) had another strong showing on both sides of the ball in this look. Packed with athleticism in a 5-foot-11, 180-pound frame, Dean was consistently on the barrel back through the middle of the field during his round of BP. The senior averaged 89.9 mph per batted ball with a top mark of 95.2 mph and also sending his furthest ball 377 feet, all which are among the top marks of the event. His athleticism transferred over to the field where he fired a 88 mph bullet from the outfield and ran a 6.94 60 for good measure. On the mound, Dean ran his fastball up to 85.3 mph while showing feel to land a curveball/changeup mix for strikes.

+  Another standout two-way performance came from OF/RHP Luke Hanahan (Blue Valley Southwest, 2026). The uncommitted junior got the day started by showing off his athleticism, running a 6.92 60 and posting a 32.1” vertical jump. An impact left-handed bat, Hanahan put together one of the most complete rounds of BP on the day, showing advanced bat speed and lining balls for gap to gap with an effortless stroke. He averaged 88.7 mph and 303 feet per batted ball, barreling his best ball of the day 362 feet at 94.4 mph. The 6-foot, 165-pound athlete also fired a 88 mph mark from the outfield for good measure. That arm strength carried over to the mound where Hanahan pounded the zone with a 84-86 mph fastball (T87.3 mph) and mixed in a 2,400+ RPM slider at 72-73 mph and low spin changeup at 79-81 mph.

+ INF/RHP Krue Patrick (Staley, 2028) continues to emerge as one of the top two-way talents in the state, showing tools across the board in this event. At a projectable, 6-foot, 175-pounds, Patrick is a rhythmic, controlled mover in the box, using a polished right-handed swing to elevate the ball pullside with a max exit velocity of 90.8 mph. Defensively, his 84 mph mark across the infield was among the event leaders. To wrap up the day, Patrick hopped on the mound, pitching in the low-80s, topping out at 84.7 mph while commanding both sides of the plate with a curveball/slider mix to pair.
