Tell Us More...
Tell us about your commitment to Virginia. Why did you decide on the 'Hoos? What other schools were you in contact with?
First of all, UVA was one of my dream schools and not only is it a great baseball school, but also somewhere I can get a great education. I really loved UVA's coaching staff and what the team was all about. They preached values like accountability and consistent energy, things that I really value. Also, I loved the culture there on and off the field. And overall, I just had a great feel there and it seemed like an awesome fit for me. I was talking to other schools at the time like St. John's and James Madison.

We are knee deep into the offseason. Tell us about your training and spring preparation.
I've been hitting everyday this offseason with my dad (Garett) and my cousin (Steven Teel). I'm just focusing on getting a good feel and taking quality swings every day. I've also been strength training and mobility training with Mike Guadango (owner of Freak Strength - Oakland, NJ). Since the summer, my hard work with Mike has really paid off and I feel like I've gotten much more physical.

Who is your biggest influence in the game today?

My biggest influence is my dad. He's taught me about the game since I can remember and he's sacrificed a lot of his time to help me improve every day.

Your brother Aidan is a freshman at Mahwah this year. Have you ever played on the same team together? What is that going to  be like?
We've never played on the same team before and it's something that we have been looking forward to and I'm really excited to get the opportunity. It's going to be cool because not only will we be on the same team, but he'll also get to pitch to me.

Who is the best player you've played with or against in your career so far?
The best player I've played against is Austin Hendrick (2020 Mississippi State recruit, ranked 8th overall).

The best pitcher I have caught is Max Rajcic (2020 UCLA recruit, ranked 65th overall).

What are your goals for this season?
Win a state championship and a county championship.

Stirrups, high socks, or classic long pant?
I'm all about the tapered long pants. But you can't go wrong with stirrups.

Most embarrassing moment on a baseball field?
Yelling "back!" while I was catching when my pitcher threw over to first base. I yelled it really loud.
