The 2019 spring high school season in New Jersey generated some incredible individual moments and performances throughout all corners of the state. As the spring high school season comes to a close, Prep Baseball Report is excited to announce one player who emerged ahead of the competition at all levels in the state of New Jersey. This player has been selected not only for their outstanding statistical numbers, but also for their overall effect on their high school program.

JACK LEITER

Leiter threw 58.2 IP, allowed just 23 Hits, struck out 95, and recorded an ERA of .60. He led Delbarton to the Non-Public A Championship for the second time in three years and was drafted in the 20th Round by the Yankees.

Leiter's all-around performance, as well as the impact he has had on Delbarton, has earned him the 2019 Prep Baseball Report New Jersey Player of the Year honors.

Leiter has been selected by the staff of Prep Baseball Report of New Jersey. The team of PBR area scouts who covered the high school baseball season throughout the spring selected Leiter amongst a strong group of candidates from across the state. The Prep Baseball Report staff has been diligently scouting and covering baseball games at baseball diamonds across the state this spring to bring parents, athletes and fans the most comprehensive coverage of amateur baseball across the United States.
