Bob Jones jumped out to a 6-1 and saw Huntsville score multiple runs in the 6th and 7th innings to tie the game at seven before some late game heroics for the Patriots. He was relieved by senior John Herron who worked 2 1/3 innings, allowing 2 hits and no runs while walking 2 and striking out 2. Collin East was next out of the bullpen and allowed 2 earned runs before senior Sam Maynard came in to work an inning allowing 2 hits and 2 earned runs while striking out 2. Ben Creekmore was the winning pitcher after working an inning on the mound, allowing 3 hits and 1 earned run. Huntsville countered with senior Nick Sottolano who worked 3 2/3 innings on the mound. Sottolano allowed 6 hits and 4 earned runs while walking 3 and striking out 3 as well. Senior Slade Schultz worked 1 2/3 innings, allowing 3 hits and 1 earned run on 2 base on balls and 1 strikeout. The scoring started early for Bob Jones as the Patriots plated 2 runs in the bottom of the 1st inning. Mitchell Daly got on by error and Max Soliz, Jr walked. Cam Hill then came through with a 2 RBI single to stake the Patriots to a 2-0 lead. The Patriots would add to the lead in the home half of the 2nd inning. Tyler Jones got things started with a 1 out single and Caden Rose walked with 2 outs before junior Slate Alford jumped on a breaking ball and hammered it over the left field fence to extend the lead to 5-0 for Bob Jones. Huntsville jumped on the board in the 3rd inning as Xavier Vaz legged out an infield single and later scored from 2nd base on a single by senior Nick Constantine. Wade Passler, who earlier walked in the inning was thrown out trying to score on the play. Bob Jones tacked on a run in the bottom of the 4th as Jones once again got things started with a leadoff single and came around to score on a single off the bat of Rose. The score remained 6-1 Patriots until the top of the 6th when Huntsville scored 3 runs to cut the deficit to 6-4. Jayce Guyette drove in Stone Lawless, who earlier walked, to make it 6-2. Sophomore Cade Prestegard came though with a 1 out RBI single to make it 6-3 and Sottolano (hit by pitch) scored on a wild pitch to cut the lead to 6-4. The bottom of the 6th saw the Patriots add on a run as Ryan Crawford and Rose singled. Sophomore JW Hopkins walked and Daly drew a 2 out walk to force home a run to make it 7-4. The Panthers rallied in the 7th inning to tie things up as Passler led things off with a walk and pinch hitter Michael Pfeiffer delivered a solid single. Freshman Stone Lawless jumped on the first pitch he saw for an RBI double to bring the Panthers closer at 7-5. Guyette delivered another RBI single to make it 7-6 and Sottolano tied things up at 7 with an RBI single of his own. The Patriots were able to escape further damage before the bottom of the 7th heroics. Hill lead off with a double on the first pitch he saw. That set the stage for Dylan Ray as he promptly deposited the first pitch he saw over the left field fence for the walk off homerun giving the Patriots a 9-7 win.
