Dailey goes 6 innings on the mound to lead Huntsville over Hazel Green, 9-6

Senior Matt Dailey was dominant on the mound for the Panthers as they held off a late surge from the Trojans. Dailey, the #34 player in the 2019 Alabama class and a University of Montevallo signee, was very efficient on the night. The left handed pitcher went 6 innings, striking out 13 and issued 3 walks. He allowed 4 runs: a solo shot by Chattahoochee Valley CC signee Garrett Gustafson in the 5th inning and a 3 run homerun by Bradley Hulin in the 6th inning. Hulin is headed to Wallace- Hanceville, while Gustafson is the 43rd ranked player in the 2019 class in Alabama. 2020 Nick Sottolano came in to relieve Nick Constantine in the 7th to record the final 2 outs of the game after the Trojans loaded the bases with 1 out. The Panthers were led offensively by 2020 catcher Jayce Guyette who had 2 hits, including a 3 run homerun. Dailey had 2 singles with an RBI and junior Parker Williamson also collected 2 hits and 2 RBI's. The Panthers improve to 3-0 while the Trojans fall to 1-2. The Panthers host James Clemens on Thursday while Hazel Green hosts Bob Jones on Tuesday.
