Scouting Report
(Capital Region Open - July 29, 2015) Smith stands 5-foot-10, 145-pounds with wide shoulders and room for growth.  The righty is a quick worker.  From the wind-up he starts feet shoulder width apart.  Uses a side-step to a very high leg kick.  Uses a short drop and drive method to gain momentum towards the plate.  Extremely quick hand speed for his size.  Good glove use, finishes out over front side.  Max effort pitcher, but good athlete. Could sustain effort late into gains. Sat 78-82 in live BP, retiring all 4 batters he faced.  Curve ball showed good action 10/4 shape, can throw it for strikes when needed.

(New York Games - July 7, 2015) Works from a 5-foot-10 frame, 145-pound body. On the mound he uses quicker delivery but repeats, arm action is longer and shows quick hand-speed. Fastball sits 78-80 with some signs of more life in the tank. Curveball was 67-68 mph with 11/5 shape. Finishes glove side.
