(Capital Region Open - July 29) Joseph Novenche, C/2B, Shenendehowa HS, NY (2018) - At a showcase flooded with upper-class catchers, Novenche solidified himself as one of the best.  Standing a strong 5-foot-9, 170-pounds the rising sophomore was a consistently under 2.0 (1.88 best) down to 2nd base from a high 3/4 slot.  Plus arm strength at 81mph. He showed an above average transfer and framing ability. Would like to see his glove be horizontal in his setup.  Aggressive in his pop.  At the plate his setup is slightly open and shoulder width apart.  Gets back to even with a short heel for timing.  Bath path is direct to the ball with lift.  Full hip rotation and high balanced finish.  Interesting player to watch for, as he matures and gains strength.
