PBR: Let's start with your baseball commitment to Niagara University. Tell us about the process and how you decided on the Purple Eagles? How excited are you to play in the MAAC?

Giordano: The recruiting process was an awesome experience, it actually all started when I was in my freshman summer I went to Niagara's summer camp. I just went out and played and probably had the best day of baseball I have ever played. Then at the end of the camp Coach McCoy told me he would want me to come visit. So I did and they made me feel like I was home as soon as I stepped on campus. Also it was close to home so my parents can come watch. Then 2 months later I made my commitment to play baseball there. Making this decision has only a sophomore was the best choice I have ever made. Getting to play in the MAAC conference is going to be great, I'll get to play against old teammates who I played with during school ball and I'm extremely excited to be a Purple Eagle.

PBR: Baseball has an unbelievable way of positively shaping young man on and off the field. Tell us one life-lesson you have picked up over the years playing the game, and how that life-lesson may impact you later in life?

Giordano: During my baseball career I have learned many life lessons. Baseball has taught me that things never come easy in life you have to work for it. This has helped me both in baseball and in the classroom.

PBR: If you were a baseball scout and just watched yourself play, what would that scouting report look like?

Giordano: If I was a baseball scout and was watching me play I would be impressed with my arm strength and range I have at shortstop. Also I can come in and relief pitch and throw mid 80s after a long game. Plus my bad speed and smart base running.

PBR: This one is for our strictly baseball-minded readers. Tell us about your strengths and weaknesses on the field.

Giordano: My strengths are that I can play anywhere in the infield and my arm strength. I love to compete and win so I'll always help my team the best I can do. I'm really working on locating and more movement on my curveball.

PBR: You can only pick one, but who is your biggest baseball influence and why?

Giordano: The biggest influence on me is my dad, he was the one who started my career he would play catch with me and hit me ground balls when I was little. Now that I'm older he signs me up with trainers. He always pushes me to do my best and is my biggest supporter.

PBR: We are knee-deep into the off-season schedule. Tell us about your training, and spring preparation.

Giordano: Now that where in the off-season I'm always hitting and taking ground balls I work at a baseball facility so I am constantly surrounded by baseball. I go to showcase practice every Saturday and Friday nights then school ball on Tuesday's and Thursday's.

PBR:
Anyone that plays the game with true passion hopes to leave their own legacy. Tell us how you want to be remembered for playing the game?

Giordano: Hopefully after college my baseball career isn't over but I want people to remember me as a hard worker who left it all on the field every time I played.
