NY Insider: Updated and Expanded 2016 Rankings Released

The high school season is almost here with practices around the state now in full-swing. This spring season gives 2016 graduates their last chance to play baseball for their high school programs. Over the course of the past two-years our boots-on-the-ground scouting team have worked tirelessly gathering and compiling player data, nearly 12-months out of the year. Through the high school season, our top-flight events, and the travel baseball scene, we have been able to piece together the Empire State's most thorough, and accurate player rankings. Let's take a look at the best-of-the-best in the 2016 class.

The Updated and Expanded 2016 player rankings serve as a reminder of how good the talent here in New York actually is. The top ten players in the updated rankings are all headed to major D1 programs, 35 of the top 50 are headed to the division-one level as well. This update expands from the previous top 175 to now the top 200 in the state.

The 2016 class has no movement in the top-three, understandably, as the usual-suspects claim their prowess as the top prospects in the state. With no hesitation the No. 1 (No. 3 overall) player in the 2016 class is RHP Ian Anderson (Shenendehowa HS). Simply put, Anderson was built to throw a baseball....
