NY Games (June 25-27, 2017) Intriguing 6-foot, 160-pound athlete with an 8.03/60, has run 7.57 in past. Defensively - Fundamentally sound, with agile footwork, soft hands, smooth transfer with pinpoint accuracy at 76 MPH, poised and confident, effortless. Could work on being more assertive in getting rid of the ball. Offensively - Upright stance, keeps hands back, inner knee rotation, short to contact; keeps bat on level path through the zone with full extension and slight upper cut after contact, consistent barrel contact with an exit velocity of  71 MPH (personal best is 76 MPH). Pitching - Loose and clean arm action, uses height to get downward plane on fastball with movement at 71-72 MPH, curveball at 60-61 MPH is deceptive, induces weak contact, confident with change-up at 66-67 MPH, untapped potential. Decent action on all offerings, room for velocity growth.

WHAT TO EXPECT

"Lopez battled some injuries in 2017 in which became a year for him to get back on track. Showed well defensively and at the plate, with a short/compact swing,  during the NY Games while working himself back into the mix on the mound. Looking to see a physically stronger and more aggressive player this time around. Uncommitted senior."
