RECENT SHOWCASE HISTORY:

New England Academic Games I (July 25, 2017) 5-foot-10, 165-pound right-handed hitting catcher and outfielder. Defensively- Threw 75 mph from behind the dish and 77 mph from the outfield. Showed an athletic approach in the outfield, moves well enough to play a corner outfield spot. The catching tool is his primary spot. The receiving is trending the right way, needs to soften up the glove and work on securing the catch. Pop time of 2.07 in the event. Offensively- Ran a 4.6 down the line on his dig to first base. The bat has a tee exit velocity of 73 MPH, as the frame needs added strength. Sets up with an even base, steps into the swing as the ball approaches. The bottom half uses a pick up and put down. The hands work clean, needs to flatten the swing for plate coverage as well. Additional body strength should make many of these things easier for him.

Firecracker Showcase (June 28, 2017) 5-foot-9, 160-pound, smaller, athletic frame. The neck and arms are long, shoulders are rounded off, a well proportioned athlete, has room for future development. Offensively- A right-handed hitter, the feet are even, start wider than shoulder width, is in a good balanced starting position. The hands are loose at shoulder height, bat starts in a more vertical position. The stride is simple, straight and lower half is under control, hands get back, shows to have a little wrap in the load. The swing path is flat to up, finishes with two hands above the shoulder, squared up the baseball well in batting practice. The tee exit velocity was clocked at 73 MPH, and ran a 7.58. Defensively- Worked out from behind the dish. The setup is wide, sits on the flats of his feet. The transfer is clean, gains ground with his feet, glove is quick to throwing arm. The arm action is short and clean on the back side, strength could be better, throws had slight arc to them, had a pop time of 2.28-2.37. Strength is a must over the next year, showed the ability to swing the bat.

WHAT TO EXPECT

"The last few events that Prince has attended we've noticed a change in his physicality having grown 2 inches and gain 20 pounds of mass. Arm strength has been on the rise and pop times dropping. His swing path has become shorter/more compact. There is evidence of work being put in off the field and we are curious to see after an additional 7 months of work if he'll be making another jump in the rankings."
