On the Hunt: Uncommitted Position Players from the 2019 National Rankings

By Shooter Hunt
National Crosschecker
Continuing to examine the uncommitted, nationally ranked 2019 players, On the Hunt takes a look at some of the impressive position players and two-way standouts that are still left on for college recruiters to discover. Equipped with power bats, quick hands, and overall twitchy movements, these players will all make an impact at the next level.

Jalen Greer, SS, St. Rita HS, IL, 2019
Greer’s ceiling is very high, and as he continues to fill out his 6-foot-2, 160-pound frame, the possibilities of him being an impact player at the next level appear more likely. At the plate, Greer possesses quick hands that drive through the zone to produce present line drive power. Greer has a simple approach with a short stride that works in rhythm with his hands, and he consistently produces quality contact. In the field, Greer ranges side to side with long strides to cover a lot of ground. Utilizing his good athleticism, Greer plays through the ball well, and shows off a strong, accurate arm across the diamond. Greer has grown quite a bit in the past two years, and as he continues to adjust to his body and add strength, expect him to progress towards his high ceiling.
