Scouting Report
Volpi stands in at an intimidating 6-foot-5, 215 pounds. The left side infielder runs a 7.40 60 and a 4.40 home-to-1B. Offensively- Eric starts in a spread stance with a slight wrap of the barrel during his load. Uses and up-down leg kick for his stride and stays back into contact. For his size he's able to tuck the hands in and stay short to contact. Moderate extension with line drive and gap contact. Additional acceleration/weight transfer through contact will help him reach his full power potential. Impressive 90 MPH exit velocity. Defensively- Very soft on his feet, quick first step and able to change directions well. Flashes some shortstop actions but the reality of the matter is he will see more time at 3B (or 1B) over the long term. Suitable arm from the left side at 78 MPH with more in the tank. Impressive skill set that will only be more impressive and powerful when he fills out his frame.

Quick Hit
"Volpi flashes above average actions for his size. Arm works well from the left side, from a low slot. Simple and easy mechanics at the plate; generates plenty of force and has power potential with his long levers. On our radar for some time; looking forward to seeing him match up against some top competition on September 17th."
