Our "Player Spotlights" will be reserved for any prospect across New York who's abilities on the field have made some noteworthy recent buzz. Possibly a recent event where a Top Performer Spotlight article is just not enough, or maybe a recent commitment to a major program. Whatever it is, I'll (Dan Cevette) be going in-depth on the player spotlighted below with personal insight and honest feedback. Let's get started.

Connor Eisenmann SS / RHP / Frontier Senior, NY / 2020

CEVETTE'S QUICK HIT: Frame is lean and projectable, at the plate there's some present bat-speed, effortless, and signs of more to come as he physically develops. He handles the glove with smooth actions and a quick release from a strong arm. The mound though, is where I'm really enticed. The arm is quick in the low-mid 80's and there's no restrictions currently. Excited to see where he's at come June 25-27 at the NYS Games.

SCOUTING REPORT: At the plate he uses an upright narrow stance with the barrel parallel to the ground pre-pitch.  He uses a small stride on the pitch for timing, hands go direct to the ball on a mostly level barrel plane, very loose and easy, 82 mph exit velocity with low effort, full extension on his finish. Defensively, mechanically sound with an active lower half, wide base that fields ball out in front with a clean quick funnel and transfer. Throws from an high 3/4 high slot arm strength at 78 mph but expect that number to increase as the summer months approach. On the mound there's a lot to get excited about with the 2020 graduate.  mechanics are quick-tempo but repeatable, front knee coils back past the rubber for increased momentum and and drive towards home. arm swing is fluid and consistent, full extension out in front on the high 3/4 release, long front side with shoulder tilt. Fastball sits 80-83 mph with plenty more velocity in the tank, curveball shows advanced shape, 11/5 hard late bite,  very promising young 2020 right-handed pitcher to keep a close eye on from the Buffalo area.
