Player Spotlight: 2019 SS Justin Perrotta (Fordham Prep HS)

Dan Cevette
President, New York

Our "Player Spotlights" will be reserved for any prospect across New York who's abilities on the field have made some noteworthy recent buzz. Possibly a recent event where a Top Performer Spotlight article is just not enough, or maybe a recent commitment to a major program. Whatever it is, I'll (Dan Cevette) be going in-depth on the player spotlighted below with personal insight and honest feedback. Let's get started.

Justin Perrotta SS / 2B / Fordham Prep, NY / 2019

CEVETTE'S QUICK HIT: Very aggressive, high energy player. Attacks the baseball out in front both with the bat and glove. Tools are sound and the body frame has room for development. Excited to see him on a field June 25-27 at the NYS Games as his baseball baseball is yet to be played.

SCOUTING REPORT: Justin is a 5-foot-11, 175-pound SS/2B that ran a 4.38 home-to-first with an athletic appearance. Offensively: He bats in a slightly open, crouched stance. He uses a longer stride, gets his hands into a low position, shows above average bat speed and gets power from his lower half, full extension after contact. Defensively: Charged the ball advanced actions, aggressive and active, soft hands and a 77 MPH arm-strength from SS, signs of more in the tank. Very strong infield prospect to keep a close eye on. We will see him again at the NYS Games June 25-27.
