Scouting Notes on Walker
Ryan Walker, MIF/OF, Corning HS, NY ( 2015)

Walker stands 5-foot-11 165-pounds with room to add some good weight. From the infield he uses plus baseball actions getting around the baseball, fields ball out in front with a smooth clean quick transfer, throws from a mid ¾ slot at 83 mph getting through the baseball. He moves laterally well and ran 4.24 home to first time out of the right side batter’s box. At the plate his approach is balanced with a small leg lift and stride on the pitch. His bat path is level through the strike zone with his hands inside the ball and a shoulder high finish. His exit velocity was 85 mph off a tee.

Analysis:
Over the past few weeks Walker accepted the opportunity to play his college baseball at St. Bonaventure University. He's a versatile player, handling the MIF nicely, and roaming the OF with confidence. His foot speed is solid, but he plays much faster than the 60 time reads. He will almost definitely be the starting SS on his HS team this spring and compete at Bonaventure where ever his skillet is needed.
