Preseason Greater NYC: Infield Analysis From Feb. 19th

February 19th PBR New York made its way to the Greater New York City area - Elmsford, NY for a preseason identification event at the very neat and clean - Game On 13. The smoke as finally settled, and the infield reports are final. Here's a look at the Infielders from Feb. 19th.

Angelo Baez, SS, Mount St. Michael Academy, NY (2016)
Baez stands 5-foot-9, 165-pounds with a smaller but athletic build. At the plate he uses a balanced approach, small toe tap on the pitch, back load. Extremely quick hands evidenced by his 85 mph exit velocity off a tee with wood. Path is short to the ball, shoulders get some tilt, barrel slightly inclined through the contact zone, extension out in front, high finish. Next-level bat. From SS he is very sleek, above average hands fielding out in front, funnel is clean, arm action is quick and smooth, shuffles his feet well on longer throws, fast release when he needs it. 85 mph arm from SS, very good athlete, 4.1 home-to-first-time.

Christian Naccari, SS, Ossining HS, NY (2016)
Naccari stands 6-foot-1, 160-pounds with a solid frame, projectable. At the plate he uses a wide setup, small stride on the pitch, back load for timing. Uses a short path, slightly incline plane, long extension, shoulder finish with good balance. 78 mph exit velocity off a tee. From SS stays behind the ball well, glove out and open. Foot work needs to be faster to stay at up the middle - ran a 4.6 home-to-first-time. Might be a guy that moves to the corner at the next-level. Shows a quick, clean arm action with 79 mph arm strength. Fun prospect to watch.

Justin Adams
, RHP, Westlake HS, NY (2016)
Adams stands 5-foot-10, 165-pounds with a solid frame to add onto. At the plate he starts with an athletic approach, wide stance. On the pitch he uses a back load, slight stride for timing. Path to the ball is quick, short, barrel is level through the contact zone. He uses extension after contact, shoulder level finish, 80 mph bat exit velocity off a tee. From 3B he stays behind the ball, fast transfer, good funnel. Long arm action, throws from a high-3/4 arm alot, 77 mph arm strength with more in the tank. He ran a 4.38 home-to-first-time.

Evan Noblesala, MIF, Townsend Harris, NY (2016)
Noblesala stands 5-foot-8, 130-pounds with a slender build. At the plate he starts with a balanced approach, hands in front of his face. On the pitch he loads back, short stride for timing. Path to the ball is longer, bat drops. Plane is mostly level through the zone, shoulder height finish, 70 mph exit velocity off a tee. From the MIF he stays behind the ball, lets the ball get a touch too deep, funnel to his belt, short arm action, throws from a high-3/4 slot with arm strength at 74 mph. Footwork is sound and quick moving towards his target evidenced by his 4.3 home-to-first-time.

Nick Bilotta, MIF, Harrison HS, NY (2017)
Bilotta stands 5-foot-9, 130-pounds with a smaller frame. At the plate he starts relaxed, wide stance, back loads on the pitch and small stride. Path to the ball is short, hands stay inside the ball, mostly level bat plane through contact, some extension after contact, high finish, exit velocity off a tee was 65 mph. At the MIF he gets behind the ball, lets it get too deep in his stance, arm action is back, elbow gets above shoulder. Throws from a high-3/4 slot, arm strength at 72 mph.

Matthew Latino, SS, Westlake HS, NY (2016)
Latino stands 5-foot-8, 135-pounds with a slender build. At the plate Slightly open stance, loads back on the pitch, long stride. Path to the ball is short, barrel comes down at the ball, slightly level through the contact zone, some extension, high finish. Exit velocity was 74 mph. At SS he fields behind the ball, stays low, open glove. Quick belt funnel, longer arm action, stands up as he releases ball from a high-3/4 slot. Arm strength at 71 mph.

Joseph Ragone, RHP, Archbishop Stepinac, NY (2018)
Ragone stands 5-foot-9, 140-pounds with an athletic body. At the plate his setup is slightly open, on the pitch he loads back, weight shifts back, slight toe tap and small stride. Path is short, plane is mostly level through contact, shoulder height finish. 74 mph exit velocity. From SS he gets behind the ball in the correct position, fields low with knees bent, head up. Glove is open and funnels back to his belt, clean transfer to a long arm action. Throws from a low/mid-3/4 slot at 70 mph. He ran a 4.58 home-to-first-time.

Tim Eidem, SS, Ossining HS, NY (2016)
Eidem stands 5-foot-10, 155-pounds with a good athletic frame. At the plate he bats from the left-side. His approach is with his weight back, slightly wide stance. Back load on the pitch, slight toe tap and stride for timing. Path is short to the ball, barrel gets to the ball some tilt, extension out in front, above shoulder finish. Exit velocity off a tee was 76 mph. From SS he gets behind ball, knees bent, head down. Glove face is open, funnel back to mid-section, average arm action, throws from a high-3/4 slot at 68 mph. 4.44 home-to-first-time.

Dylan Dasgupta, RHP, New Rochelle HS, NY (2016)
Dasgupta stands 5-foot-7, 130-pounds with a smaller frame. At the plate he uses an upright open stance, hands low. On the pitch he loads his hands up, strides back to even, path is short, plane is mostly level through the zone. Finish is shoulder height. Exit velocity was 69 mph off a tee. At SS he fields behind the ball, bent knees and wide, funnels high and straight back arm action, throws from an over-the-top slot at 67 mph. He ran a 4.31 home-to-first-time.

Tyler Cowles, MIF, Sleepy Hollow HS, NY (2016)
Cowles stands 6-foot-0, 160-pounds with an athletic look. At the plate he sets up relaxed, wide, hands near back shoulder. On the pitch he uses a back load, small stride, path is longer to the ball, barrel stays mostly level through the contact zone. Finish is shoulder high. Exit velocity off a tee 63 mph. From the MIF he gets behind the ball well, bends back a little more then he should, funnels back to his belt, very quick transfer and release, throws from a very low-side arm slot. Arm strength at 66 mph. He ran a 5.1 home-to-first-time.
