Q & A with Steven Theetge LHP (Cicero-North Syracuse HS) 2015 graduate

Name: Steven Theetge
High School: Cicero-North Syracuse HS
College Commitment: Uncommitted
Position: LHP

PBR New York sat down with Steven Theetge who attends Cicero-North Syracuse HS for a question and answer session.

PBR: Tell me about yourself and your athletic background.

Theetge: I am a 6-foot-3 185 pound left handed pitcher from Syracuse, New York, and I attend Cicero-North Syracuse high school. I also played varsity basketball this season. I have been playing baseball since I was eight years old. I played junior varsity baseball as a freshman and varsity as a sophomore, I finished my sophomore year 6-1 with a 0.90 ERA.

PBR: How did you prepare for this 2014 season?

Theetge: I have prepared for this upcoming season by starting to throw once a week during December, and also getting some swings in. I would also go out once or twice a week and run a mile or two. Now that we are into the first couple weeks of the season everything feels conditioned well.

PBR: Tell us about your strengths and weaknesses as a player.

Theetge: My strengths are being able to locate all four of my pitches wherever I want to. Another strength is that I have movement on every pitch, I always throw a two-seam fastball, never a four-seem. I also have a very dangerous pick-off move to first base, being a lefty. A weakness is that I am a shy and quiet kid who needs to work on speaking up to be a leader, currently I lead by example.

PBR: Who is the top player you will face this year?

Theetge: The top player I will face this year is RHP Scott Blewett from Baldwinsville high school. He is a hard throwing right hander with a good curveball.

PBR: Who are the top teams you will face this year?

Theetge: I don’t think there is one top team this year, but Cicero-North, Baldwinsville, and Syracuse East are all very good and have a very good chance to go all the way.

PBR:
What is a fun fact about yourself?

Theetge: A fun fact about myself is that every time I pitch I wear the same shirt underneath my jersey, I am very superstitious.
