Southern-Tier Open Analysis

Timothy Buchek, 1B/RHP, Windsor HS, NY (2018) Stands at 6-foot-2, 185 pounds, with an athletic body build.  He ran a 7.49 60 yard dash.  At first base looked good receiving throws from the position players, nice footwork fielding through the ball, throws were on target, with a high 3/4 arm slot throwing motion.  His arm strength was at 78 MPH.  At the plate his setup is relaxed and balanced stance, short double tap stride, with a back load.  His hands are very compact and strong, swinging on a level plane with long/full extension through the ball.  He shows a lot of life in his bat.  His exit velocity was 90 MPH.  Big-time potential.

Jake DeJoy, 3B, Unatego HS, NY (2016) Stands at 6-foot-1, 170 pounds, with an athletic body build.  He ran a 7.34 60 yard dash.  He has a good approach through the ball, with soft hands, throws with a high 3/4 arm action, plays through the ball, and has accuracy on the target.  His arm strength was 69 MPH.  At the plate his setup is relaxed and very balanced, short stride, with a back load.  His hands are very compact, swinging on a level plane, with a shoulder finish with extension through the ball.  His exit velocity was 74 MPH. 

Antonio Fisher, C, Hudson HS, NY (2017) Stands at 5-foot-10, 165 pounds, with an athletic body build.  He ran a 7.55 60 yard dash.  As a catcher, he throws with a clean loose action.  He receives the ball with smooth, soft hands and has a clean transfer.  He blocks the ball nicely and keeps everything in front of him.  His pop times were consistently at 1.95 down to second base.  His arm strength was at 76 MPH.  At the plate his setup is relaxed and balanced, short leg kick stride, with a back load.  His hands are very compact, swinging on a level plane with good extension, with a shoulder finish through the ball.  His exit velocity was 77 MPH. 

Michael Limoncelli, MIF, Horseheads HS, NY (2019) Stands at 5’11”, 150 pounds, with an athletic body build.  He ran a 7.25 60 yard dash.  He has a smooth approach through the ball, with smooth, soft, quick hands, throws with a clean loose action, arm is very strong across the diamond, plays through the ball nicely, with lots of range, and has accuracy on the target.  His arm strength was at 81 MPH.  At the plate his setup is relaxed and very balanced, short leg kick stride, with a smooth load.  His hands are very compact and strong, swinging on a level plane with long/full extension through the ball, with an athletic balance throughout the whole swing.  He shows a lot of life in his bat.  His exit velocity was 85 MPH.  He is a young player who can play.

Ryan Madigan, 3B/RHP, Addison HS, NY (2017) Stands at 5-foot-1, 160 pounds, with an athletic body build.  He ran a 7.98 60 yard dash.  He has a good approach through the ball, with soft hands, throws with a high 3/4 arm action, plays through the ball, and has accuracy on the target.  His arm strength was 71 MPH.  At the plate his setup is relaxed and very balanced, short leg kick but longer stride, with a back load.  His hands are very compact and strong, swinging with some uphill tilt, with a shoulder high finish with extension through the ball.  His exit velocity was 78 MPH.

Andrew Thompson, C, Horseheads HS, NY (2018) Stands at 5-foot-10, 155 pounds, with an athletic body build.  He ran a 7.34 60 yard dash.  As a catcher, he throws with a clean loose action.  He receives the ball with smooth, soft hands and has a clean transfer.  He blocks the ball nicely and keeps everything in front of him.  His pop times were consistently at 2.07 down to second base.  His arm strength was at 71 MPH.  At the plate his setup is relaxed and balanced, short stride, with a back load.  His hands are very compact and strong, swinging on a level plane with movement towards the ball through the swing, extension through the ball, and has a shoulder high finish.  His exit velocity was 82 MPH.  Chance to be pretty good behind the dish.

Anthony Van Fossen, 1B/RHP, Union Endicott HS, NY (2018) Stands at 6-foot-0, 155 pounds, with an athletic body build.  He ran a 7.39 60 yard dash.  At first base looked good fielding through the ball and receiving throws from the position players, throws with a high 3/4 arm slot.  His arm strength was at 75 MPH.  At the plate his setup is relaxed and balanced stance, short stride, with a dropping of hands load.  His hands are very compact, swinging on a level plane with extension through the ball finish shoulder high.  His exit velocity was 73 MPH.

Brooks Vertoske, MIF, Horseheads HS, NY (2016) Stands at 5-foot-8, 140 pounds, with an athletic body build.  He ran a 7.28 60 yard dash.  He has been to several showcases and still seems to impress coaches.  He is a solid infielder who has a smooth approach through the ball, with smooth, soft, quick hands, throws with a clean loose action, arm is very strong across the diamond, plays through the ball nicely, with lots of range, and has accuracy on the target.  His arm strength was 82 MPH.  At the plate his setup is relaxed and balanced stance, short stride, with a back load.  His hands are very compact and strong, swinging plane straight to the ball, and has mid-section to high finish with nice extension through the ball.  His exit velocity was 82 MPH. Love his effort level each event we see him.

Frank Wayman III, OF/LHP, Horseheads HS, NY (2018) Stands at 6-foot-1, 190 pounds, with a bigger, athletic body build.  He ran a 7.66 60 yard dash.  He has a good approach through the ball, with smooth, soft hands, throws with a 3/4 arm action, plays through the ball, and has accuracy on the target.  His arm strength was at 68 MPH.  At the plate his setup is relaxed and balanced, short stride, with a back load.  His hands are very compact and strong, swinging with a little uphill tilt but straight to the ball, with long/full extension through the ball.  His exit velocity was 86 MPH.  Next-level with the bat.
