The 2017 WNY All-Star Games took place Sept. 24 at Brockport College. Over 60 high-end prospects took the field showing off their skill-sets in front of our PBR NY scouting staff and nearly a dozen college coaches. As the smoke continues to clear, we are fast-at-work piecing together all the scouting data we collected more than three weeks prior. Today we highlight yet another player who's performance earns an extra look.

Scouting Report

Western NY All-Star Games (September 24, 2017) Oropeza stands a sturdy 5-foot-11, 200-pounds from his corner position. He uses a slightly open stance, active loose hands (bat-waggle) knee lift on the pitch for timing, strides back to even. Barrel stays mostly level through contact, full extension with above average bat-whip. Exit velocity was 88 mph off a tee, during BP he used all fields with gap-to-gap power, more pronounced to his pull-side. Defensively he has active footwork, keeps the ball centered and out-in-front, very quick transfer to an easy and accurate 78 mph arm from a 3/4 slot. overall fielding actions are smooth and trained.
