Dan Cevette

Our Campus Series events ended last week in Rochester, NY at St. John Fisher College after a five week span that started July 3 at Niagara University. Over 250 players attended the Campus Series events with several players showing off next-level talent on the field. Over the course of the next few months we will be highlighting "Top Performer Spotlights" on players who really stood-out at a past event. Let's get started.

CEVETTE'S QUICK HIT: At first glance he passes the eye test, strong and athletic with thick broad shoulders with a barrel chest. In the box there's a natural swing path from the left-side that produces above average pull-side power. The bat is an advanced tool for Prokosch but the real projection is from the mound. Already above average arm-strength for his age (85 mph) and the ability to throw three pitches for strikes. Would like to see a longer back arm-swing on the take away. Exicted to see his progress over the next two-years, chance to be very good.

Campus Series Marist College (July 17, 2018)

Well built frame standing 6-foot-0, 183-pounds with a thick strong appearance. At the plate, open stance, hands relaxed and loose on the pre-pitch. Strides back to even on the pitch, short to the ball with a slight barrel incline through contact, very aggressive showing above average bat-speed (91). Pitching, starts from the stretch, wide base, high hands and knee lift as he gathers himself over the rubber. Sits on his back leg some, drives on the powerline, uses hip/shoulder separation. Arm-action is back and high, long extension on the front side with quick hand-speed. Fastball peaked 85 sitting 83-84, CH hows fade to the arm-side at 73-75.
