Dan Cevette
President, New York

It was a historic preseason here in New York with our boots-on-the-ground scouting staff covering 700+ players at showcase events, all February long. The dust has settled and we are now ramping up our efforts in player rankings, scouting reports, and recap articles. While the outcome of the 2020 HS season is on hold, the Prep Baseball Report (NY) will continue to provide unrivaled coverage for the amateur baseball players in the Empire State.

Over the next few weeks/months we will be highlighting "Top Performer Spotlights" on players who recently stood-out at our preseason events. Stay tuned with us for the latest information on the 2020 spring season and beyond.

Cevette's Quick Hit: Built like a linebacker standing 6-foot-1, 200-pounds with evidence of athleticism every time we see the All Hallows prospect. In the batters box he's relaxed with a wide-sturdy stance, slight leg lift for timing, and powerful-compact hands. Barrel path has natural lift with control to all fields during his BP round. Now on the defense. What struck me as most impressive during his catching evaluation was how quick and clean the transfer was, combined with the arm-strength. Not many catchers, all levels included, have the arm-strength of Escotto (82). A really fun player to watch grow over the next year or two who hails from the greater NYC area.
