Uncommitted '23 SS/OF Aidan Heffner (Lasalle Institute) is physically imposing at 5-foot-11, 182lbs with strength in the upper and lower body. The hitter is quiet in the box with minimal hand movement but some strong lower half movements. Heffner is able to get on plane easily with a big turn of the shoulders and a high finish around the back. The strong RHH has a max exit velo of 97 MPH, but at this particular showcase he was up to 94 MPH with a 63% sweet spot rate. Heffner is shaping into the new found SS mold with the ability to jump the yard as well as being capable of moving easily in the infield. Heffner is deliberate in his movements defensively, as well as extremely smooth. The primary SS takes good routes to the ball and fields with a silky glove. The arm action is loose and comes from whatever slot is necessary to make the throw. Heffner posted an 87 MPH infield velo in February at the Mohawk Valley event. With all the neccessary tools to excel at SS, Heffner should be off the board soon enough as he could impact a lineup and infield at the next level without any hiccups.
