Scouting Report

Physical: 5-foot-11, 175 pounds; strong, athletic build. 7.29 runner in the 60.
Offensively: RHH. Slightly open stance with bend in the knees while hands start up over back shoulder; gains ground with a leg lift and stride while hands take efficient load back. Lower half is aggressive hitting into a stiff front side with Swing is direct to contact with a slight uphill 2 hand finish yielding bat speed up to 71 mph per Blast Motion.  Consistent hard line drive contact gap to gap; peak Trackman exit velocity of 91 MPH.
Defensively: Balanced with feet slightly off set; Athletic straight line footwork. Quality glove with clean transfers; Short arm action to a 3/4 release. 2.10-2.15 pop times. C - 77 MPH.

Physical: 5-foot-10, 160 pounds; lean athletic, frame. 7.62 runner in the 60.
 

Offensively: RHH. Upright stance with some bend in the knees; big leg kick and stride out. Aggressive with throws his hands at the ball, finishes with an upward path.  Hard line drives to all fields; peak Trackman exit velocity of 85 MPH.
 

Defensively: Low, wide base; quick out of the crouch gaining ground on his target. Soft hands, clean transfers; long arm swing with a ¾ arm slot . 2.02-2.07 pop times. C - 73 MPH.   

 

2/21/20

 

Physical: 5-10, 160-pounds. Tall frame, room to fill out. 7.72 runner in the 60; 4.36 home-to-1B.
Offensively: RHH. Slightly bent at the knees, feed shoulder width apart, medium leg kick into simple load action Level swing path through the zone, quick hands that attack the ball, head stays in the zone, long one-handed finish. Strong contact pull side. 83 MPH raw exit velocity.
Defensively: 2.09-2.21 pop times. Solid glove work, strong footwork with exceptional glove work leading into accurate throws around the bag. Long arm swing, 3/4 release. C - 74 MPH.  

 

9/21/19

 

At the plate, the 2022 catcher was impressive during the batting practice portion of the fall prospect games. Luke works with a slight leg lift and a quick path to the baseball. Displayed slight lift at the point of contact. Impressive round with hard consistent contact. The 2022 catcher is player to follow.


 

6/25/19

 

A well built 5-foot-8, 160 pounds strong frame. Ran an 8.28 in the 60 yard dash. Offensively- Stands in the box and slightly open. Uses a slight leg kick towards the pitcher before attacking the baseball. Has a quick direct path to the baseball. Flat bat path throughout the hitting zone. Gets full extension after the point of contact. Displayed hard consistent contact. Top exit velocity was 79 MPH. Defensively- Shows above average footwork. A quick exchange and a quick release from a high ¾ arm slot.  Showed an accurate arm on throws to the bag. Top throwing velocity was 71 MPH. Pop time ranged from a 2.25-2.31. The 2022 graduate has tons of upside and is a must follow.
