We would like to thank all who participated in PBR Ohio's 2019 Force Ohio. This was a great opportunity for the class of 2019-2022 prospects to be put on college radars. Many players impressed during their individual workouts at the showcase. Below we have the complete statistical results from the event as well as the top performers across various different categories.

2019 Scout Day: Force Ohio - Sneak Peek

The Arms

John (Jack) Atkins LHP / 1B / Padua Franciscan, OH / 2020

Body Type: 6-foot 205-pound prospect.
Mechanical/Delivery Notes:
Throws from a high ¾ arm slot with a quick arm. Shows some drop and drive tendencies.
77-81 mph fastball on a downward plane that showed some sink and fade at times.
64-68 mph breaking ball showed slider shape and spin. Somewhat ‘popped out’ the hand making it easier to distinguish from the fastball.
74-76 mph changeup that was pretty true through the zone, but he maintained arm speed well to create some deception.
Solid 3 pitch mix with good command of all 3. Would benefit from keeping arm speed up on the slider to minimize the ability to distinguish it from his other pitches.
Slider showed good potential of becoming an above average pitch with some refinement. Being a lefty with the potential of a good slider as his best pitch probably will push into a bullpen role at the next level.
