Complete Class of 2013 Player Analysis from the Fall TP Showcase

Andrew Rossman, LHP, North Royalton HS

6-foot, 175-pound south paw. Medium body pitcher with some funk in delivery and head jerk movement. Quick arm speed through 3/4 arm slot. Fastball shows some occasional run, ranging 77-79 mph. Curveball shows some spin at 66-68 mph and changeup has some run action at 72-73 mph.

Austin Young, RHP, Beavercreek HS

5-foot-11, 175-pound right-handed pitcher. Good delivery with some shortness in back arm extension. Arm is quick through 3/4 arm slot. Fastball (77-79 mph) shows some occasional arm side run and has good arm speed on changeup (72-75 mph). Has some feel on downward spin curve (67-70 mph).

Christian Cumberlander, OF/1B, Centennial HS

6-foot-5, 200-pound prospect. Strong body kid with some raw baseball skills. Ran impressive 7.04 60-yard time 78 mph arm strength. Projects better as a corner outfielder but shows hands around first; although needs improvement in footwork. Hits from wide stance with good bat speed into zone with some power potential from shoulder hand trigger. Good finish. Needs to improve keeping weight back and enhance hit approach.

Dylan Henricks, IF, Evergreen HS

5-foot-10, 190-pound infield prospect. Strong medium body player who projects as 3B/2B type. Ran 7.4 60-yard dash and showed solid arm (79 mph) from all angles. Needs to improve his body balance. Hits from upright stance. Upper body type who needs to enhance lower body torque. Low hand trigger produces upper cut swing path but has power potential.

Erik Fehlan, RHP/1B, Wellington HS

6-foot-3, 185-pound player with physical projection. Shows good raw skills. Registered a 7.24 60-yard dash with solid arm. Has good fielding skills around bag. Hits from wide stance. Has low hand trigger and flat bat plane. Needs to enhance lower body torque to promote power potential. As a pitcher has moderate arm speed through 3/4 slot, has long backside arm extension. Fastball 77-79 mph with spin on curve (61-64 mph) and straight change (68-70 mph).

Joe Blevins, 1B, St. Thomas Aquinas HS

6-foot-2, 225-pound prospect with big, strong body. Shows good hands around bag but needs to improve body balance. Strength in arm (77 mph) from all angles. Ran 8.37 60-yard dash. Hits with upright stance, has upper cut swing path from chest hand trigger. Needs to improve lower body torque in swing to enhance power potential.

Jordan Little, RHP, Springboro HS

5-foot-10, 165-pound pitching prospect. Throws from differing arm slot, from low 3/4 to side arm.  Aggressive fastball shows some run action at 75-78 mph. Has slurvy type tilt breaking ball (67-68 mph) and changeup shows occasional arm side run (68-69 mph).

Tyler Benner, C, Montpelier HS

5-foot-9, 155-pound catcher. Athletic actions. Ran excellent 7.12 60-yard dash. Good receiving skills; framed and blocked well. Reached 77 mph from the crouch. Needs to improve glove to hand exchange and footwork to increase split time (2.2-2.23). Hits from open stance. Has chest level hand trigger. Has good hand swing finish. Needs to enhance lower body torque.

Zach Hemenway, RHP/OF, Talawanda HS

5-foot-7, 140-pound prospect. Smallish two-way player. Ran 7.62 60-yard dash with 77 mph arm strength from the outfield. Shows body balance. Hits from upright stance with flat bat path from chest level trigger. Has good hand swing finish and some lower half torque. On the mound, has moderate arm speed through upper 3/4 slot. Needs to consistently improve follow through. Fastball ranges 72-73 mph and shows some feel on 67-68 mph change. Spins curveball  with some downward pull (62-64 mph).
