Inside the Recruitment: '16 RHP Mitch Gremling commits to Wright State

PBR: Why did you choose Wright State?

Gremling: I decided to commit to Wright State because their program is one of the best in the country and continuing to get better and now competing at a national level. They develop players and have a great coaching staff. They have everything going the right way and felt like the right fit for me.

PBR: What other schools were you considering?

Gremling: Other schools I was considering was Eastern Michigan, Morehead, Ohio, and Dayton.

PBR: Coach Lovelady and his staff are making an immediate impact at Wright State including a deep run the NCAA tournament.  How does it feel to be a part of his era as the Raiders coach?

Gremling: All of the coaches are doing great things at Wright State. They have really turned the program around. They all know how to win at the national level and also make sure their players are right with them to do the same.

PBR: Your high school teammate Damon Dues has also committed to the Raiders.  How much of an influence did he have in your decision?

Gremling: Damon and I have been playing with each other since we were little and have always pushed each other to do better. Excited to play with him the rest of high school and continue through college.

PBR: How does it feel to be a part of a Division 1 baseball program?

Gremling: It feels great to be a part of a Divison 1 program. It has been my dream since I was little.

PBR: Who do you play for in the summer and what was the most memorable experience from this summer?

Gremling: I played for the Midland Braves and the best experience is meeting new guys creating a friendship with them while playing some of the best competition in the country

PBR:  What person has the great impact on your baseball career and why?

Gremling: Both my parents have had the biggest impact on my baseball career. They have always had my back and support any decision I make about baseball.

PBR: What were your stats this spring season?

Gremling: Stats this spring I went 7-2, 58 innings pitched, 47 strikeouts, WHIP 1.05, ERA 2.53.

PBR: Who is the toughest hitter that you have face?

Gremling: Toughest hitter I have faced would be Ty Duvall and Damon Dues both always give quality at bats
