We would like to thank all who participated in PBR Ohio’s Northern Unsigned Senior Games at Cuyahoga CC. This was a great opportunity for 2015 prospects to be put on college radars. Many players impressed during their workout and in-game action. Below we have the complete player evaluations from the event.

Aidan Mlachak, RHP/SS, NDCL, 2015

6-foot-1, 175-pound two-way prospect. From the infield, he has a tendency to stop his feet with ground balls hit at him, can improve his footwork by playing through the ball as he does when he has to move laterally. He fields the ball out front nicely with his hands. Throws using 73 mph arm strength across the infield. He hits from balanced, wider stance. Hands back trigger gets close to arm bar. Projects for more power as he adds more strength to body frame. He swings with good exit velocity at 90 mph and he ran a 7.01 60-yard dash. On the mound he uses a repeatable delivery with regular effort. He has a loose arm action using average armspeed through an upper-¾ slot. Shows good command, spotting his fastball at 79-82 mph. His curveball is gradual with loopier downward break at 64-66 mph. He has a tendency to slow his arm down just a little bit with his changeup at 66 mph.

Alex Panstares, C, St. Ignatius, 2015

6-foot-1, 190-pound average body frame. Catcher shows solid footwork, with good transfer to release mechanics. He throws using 76 mph velocity to produce pop times between 2.07-2.13. Right-handed hitter starts from a balanced set up, uses a slight weight shift to his back leg before he swings for power, and a hands back to shoulder trigger. Line drive type production and showed the ability to use the whole field nicely during his round of BP. He reached a top exit velocity of 83 mph and ran a 7.12 60-yard dash.

Andy Blough, OF/IF, Smithville, 2015

5-foot-9, 160-pound average body frame. From the outfield, he shows pretty good footwork playing through the baseball well, with good crow hop mechanics. He throws using a short arm action through an upper-¾ slot with 67 mph velocity. In the infield, he has a tendency to stop his feet with ground balls hit at him. He fields the ball out front with his hands nicely, throws through a ¾ slot using 71 mph velocity. Right-handed hitter starts from a balanced stance, uses a leg kick for added power to swing. Shows the ability to use the whole field nicely, and has strength in swing. Hit a double over the left fielder’s head and line out to the center fielder in a couple of his game at-bats. He reached a top exit velocity of 84 mph and ran a 7.27 60-yard dash.

Anthony Krokos, RHP, Brecksville Broadview-Heights, 2015

6-foot-1, 185-pound average build. The right-handed pitchers delivery requires regular effort. He uses average armspeed throwing through a low-¾ slot. His fastball has natural tailing movement at 79-80 mph. His curveball broke with downward movement at 67-69 mph. He also threw a changeup using fastball armspeed at 70 mph.

Brandon Boazman, 3B/RHP, NDCL, 2015

5-foot-9, 160-pound solid, medium build. Infielder, shows good footwork at third base playing through the ball, and moves good ok laterally. He uses a short arm action through a ¾ slot using 77 mph velocity. Offensively, he starts with a balanced upright stance. Uses a weight shift to his back leg before he swings and a short leg kick for added power. Up the middle, line drive type approach. Reached a top exit velocity of 87 mph and ran a 7.75 60-yard dash. On the mound he has a repeatable delivery with his mechanics that requires regular effort. He uses average armspeed coming from an upper-¾ slot with a short arm action. His fastball was between 75-78 mph. He threw his curveball at 65-67 mph with downward gradual break. He also threw a changeup using fastball arm speed at 72 mph.

Charlie Prieve, RHP, Mason, 2015

Good tall 6-foot-5, 200-pound  pitcher’s body frame. On the mound his delivery doesn’t require much effort. He uses a shorter arm action with average armspeed through an upper-¾ slot. Would like to see him use his height and lengthen out his stride to the plate more. His fastball was between 73-75 mph. Curveball broke with downward movement at 55 mph. He also threw a changeup at 60-61 mph at below fastball armspeed, he can improve the pitch by throwing it with more arm velocity.

Chris Sentle, 2B/OF, Lake Catholic, 2015

5-foot-8, 165-pound average body frame. In the infield, he stops his feet with ground balls hit at him. His footwork would benefit by being more aggressive and playing through the baseball. He uses a slinging arm action and throws using 64 mph arm strength. He hits from a balanced stance, and uses a hands back trigger that gets to an arm bar. He showed the ability to use both parts of the field nicely during his round of BP. Could work on incorporating more lower half on his swings that reached a top exit velocity of 75 mph. He ran the 60-yard dash at a 7.70.

Christian Owens, 2B/3B, Woodridge, 2015

6-foot-1, 190-pound good solid body frame. Infielder could improve footwork by being more aggressive playing through ground balls hit at him, moves well laterally and could work better as more of an athletic third baseman at the next level. He throws using 74 mph velocity across the infield. Offensively, he uses a fluid hands back to shoulder trigger. He did a good job using the whole field during his batting practice round. Could improve swing by incorporating more of his lower half. He swings with 69 mph exit velocity.

Clyde Yoder, RHP, Hiland, 2015

6-foot-1, 215-pound solid body frame. Four-pitch pitcher. His delivery requires some effort. He throws using average armspeed through a ¾ slot. When he finishes, he tends to fall off toward the first base side after his follow through. He threw his fastball at 84-87 mph. He threw a tight, downward breaking curveball with signs of being sharp at 69-70. His slider has good sharp bite to it with gradual break across the plate at 73-75 mph. He threw his changeup using fastball armspeed at 78-79 mph. Struggled a little bit with control during his second inning of work.

Daniel Mitri, C/1B, NDCL, 2015

6-foot-1, 185-pound medium sized body frame. From third base he shows good footwork, playing through the baseball, moves pretty well laterally. Throws using 80 mph arm strength. From the catcher’s position he can improve by squaring his stance up on his throws, and can stay lower on his throws through second base as he has a tendency to stand up early. He uses 73 mph arm strength to reach pop times between 2.05-2.11. Offensively, he starts with a balanced set up, uses a slight weight shift to his back leg before he swings for added power, has a slight hands back trigger. Uses 88 mph exit velocity. He ran a 7.47 60-yard dash.

David Van Hove, C/OF, Ashland, 2015

6-foot, 185-pound average body frame. From the catcher’s position he shows pretty good footwork but can improve his pop time by staying lower throughout his throw to second-base as he has a tendency to stand up too soon. He throws with 70 mph velocity reaching pop times between 2.26-2.37. Right-handed hitter starts with his weight slightly more towards his back leg, uses an inward turn with his front foot for a timing mechanism, has a fluid hands back to shoulder trigger, two handed finish. Line drive type production reaching a top exit velocity of 74 mph. Ran his 60-yard dash at an 8.00.

Devin Bradley, SS/OF, Aurora, 2015

5-foot-11, 175-pound average body frame. In the infield he shows pretty good footwork, moving well through the baseball. He has a tendency to allow the ball to get in on him , shows good quick transfer on his throws that reach 77 mph. He hits from a wide stance with weight slightly more towards his back leg, uses a hands back to shoulder trigger. Line drive type production with a top exit velocity of 78 mph. Ran the 60-yard dash at a 7.36.

Eliseo Contreras, C, Fremont Ross, 2015

5-foot-9, 170-pound medium sized body frame. From the catcher’s position, he shows good footwork and transfer. He has a tendency to stand up early during his throws to second and can improve by staying lower and more compact. He throws using 64 mph velocity and his pop times were between 2.22-2.30. Right-handed hitter starts from a slightly closed stance, he uses repeatable swing mechanics with a short stride. Showed the ability to use the whole field nicely during his BP session. He is a contact type hitter with line drive type production. He reached a top exit velocity of 76 mph. Ran an 8.14 60-yard dash.

Gage Golic, 1B/3B, Solon, 2015

6-foot-3, 205-pound tall, average body frame. First baseman shows good athletic footwork around the bag and moves well laterally off the bag. He threw using 64 mph arm strength across the infield. Hits from a balanced set up, uses simple, repeatable swing mechanics, no hands trigger, contact type hitter with an up the middle approach. He reached a top exit velocity of 75 mph and ran a 7.79 60-yard dash.

Jake Kivett, 2B/3B, Brecksville Broadview-Heights, 2015

5-foot-11, 175-pound average body frame. The infielder shows pretty good footwork and fields out front with his hands nicely. He moves well laterally and shows sure hands. He throws across the infield using 71 mph velocity. Left-handed hitter starts from an open stance getting back to being squared up to even, uses a fluid hands back to shoulder trigger. Did a good job using the whole field during his round of batting practice. Has a tendency to dive out in front with his weight at times. He reached a top exit velocity of 84 mph and ran a 7.37 60-yard dash.

Joe Slechta, RHP/3B, Crestwood, 2015

6-foot, 168-pound thin body frame. In the infield, he has a tendency to stop his feet with ground balls hit at him and can improve footwork by being more aggressive as he does when he moves for the baseball laterally. He throws with 74 mph velocity across the infield. Right-handed hitter starts with weight more towards his back leg, uses an inward turn with his front foot for a timing mechanism, has a hands back to shoulder trigger. Contact type hitter who swings using 80 mph exit velocity. He ran a 7.46 60-yard dash. On the mound, his delivery requires regular effort. He uses average armspeed through a ¾ slot. His fastball was at 68-71 mph. Curveball has gradual break at 11/5 tilt 60-63 mph.

John Reid, OF/LHP, Crestwood, 2015

5-foot-6, 135-pound smallish frame with room to fill out. In the outfield, he displays good athletic footwork playing through the baseball with confidence. He throws using a clean arm action through a ¾ slot with 72 mph velocity. Left-handed hitter starts with a very closed stance and stays closed pretty much on his step to swing. Uses a hands back to shoulder trigger, showed the ability to use the whole field nicely during his round of batting practice. He reached a top exit velocity of 62 mph and ran a 7.44 60-yard dash.

Jordan Fox, OF/RHP, Lake Catholic, 2015

6-foot, 156-pound thin, athletic body frame. Shows pretty good footwork from the outfield, needs work cleaning up crow hop mechanics into his throws. Uses a clean arm action through an upper-¾ slot at 77 mph. Offensively, he starts on his front toe, using an inward turn with his front foot as a timing mechanism, two-handed finish with his follow through, some effort is required in his swing. Reached a top exit velocity of 74 mph and ran a 7.41 60-yard dash.

Justin Wagler, 3B/C, Berlin Hiland, 2015

6-foot-2, 190-pound  tall average build. From the crouch he shows pretty good footwork, can improve pop times by staying lower on his throws throughout to second base, has a tendency to stand up too early. He throws using 73 mph arm strength reaching pop times between 2.01-2.21. From the infield he uses athletic footwork to move well laterally, fields the ball out front nicely with his hands. He throws across the infield with 83 mph arm strength. Right-handed hitter starts from a balanced set up, uses a very slight hands back to shoulder trigger, does a good job using the whole field. He swings using 81 mph exit velocity and ran a 7.40 60-yard dash.

Kevin McMahon, 3B/1B, NDCL, 2015

5-foot-11, 190-pound thicker stronger build. The infielder, has a tendency to stop his feet and would benefit from playing through the baseball. Has a quick transfer to release on his throws using 71 mph velocity. Offensively, he hits from a wide set up, trigger gets to be a bit mechanical when his hands get back to shoulder a little too early. Showed the ability to use both parts of the field nicely during his round of BP. He reached a top exit velocity of 76 mph. He ran a 7.73 60-yard dash.  

Kyle Keifer, OF, Westerville Central, 2015

Thin 5-foot-11, 160-pound frame with room to fill out. In the outfield, he displays good footwork and crow hop mechanics. He throws with a clean arm action through an upper-¾ slot using 77 mph velocity. Right-handed hitter begins from a wide slightly open stance getting back to being squared up to even. He uses a hands back trigger getting to an arm bar, swings with shoulders. Reached a top exit velocity of 87 mph and ran a 7.26 60-yard dash.

Logan Pasterchek, 2B/RHP, Norton, 2015

5-foot-11, 175-pound average build. Infielder shows good footwork, playing through the baseball well. Does a good job of fielding out front with his hands. Throws using 68 mph velocity across the infield. Right-handed hitter uses a simple, repeatable swing with a fluid hands back to shoulder trigger. Uses an inward turn with his front foot for timing mechanism, could incorporate more lower half into swing. Swings with an exit velocity of 78 mph and ran a 7.92 60-yard dash. On the mound his delivery requires regular effort. He uses average arm speed through an upper-¾ to almost over the top slot. His fastball is between 72-75 mph. His curveball shows downward gradual break at 62-66 mph.

Matthew Milstead, C/3B, Lowell, 2015

5-foot-10, 170-pound athletic body frame. From the crouch he has very quick feet, gets good direction on his throws to second base, can improve throws by staying down throughout his throws as he has a tendency to stand up early. He throws using 73 mph reaching pop times between 2.07-2.12. He hits from a wide, open stance getting back to being squared up to even, hands back trigger gets to arm bar. Did a good job showing he can use the whole field during his round of BP. He swings using 87 mph exit velocity and ran a 7.04 60-yard dash. On the mound his delivery requires regular effort, using average armspeed through a ¾ slot. His fastball showed tail at times between 74-78 mph. Curveball broke with downward movement at 68 mph.

Micheal Magana, OF/SS, North Canton Hoover, 2015

6-foot-1, 175-pound thinner, wiry wrestlers type build. In the outfield he shows good footwork working through the baseball, throws through a ¾ arm slot with 77 mph velocity. Offensively, he hits from a tall stance, hands back trigger gets close to arm bar. Line drive type production using an exit velocity of 86 mph. He ran the 60-yard dash at 7.25.

Mitch Cromley, RHP, Bowling Green, 2015

Good strong, solid 6-foot-2, 200-pound durable pitcher’s frame. Right-hander has control of three pitches. His delivery requires some effort. He uses average armspeed through a ¾ slot. His fastball has some natural tailing movement at 82-86 mph. His go-to off speed pitch is a sinker with good downward break and deception at 72-74 mph. He also threw a tight slider at 74-75 that broke downward and across the plate.

Nathan Jones, OF/1B, Barberton, 2015

6-foot, 200-pound average body frame. In the outfield he uses good footwork, plays through the ball, can improve his footwork during his transition into his crow hop. Throws using a clean arm action through and upper-¾ slot at 77 mph. At first-base he has good hands, and scoops the ball really well. Has good footwork around the bag and moves well laterally off the bag. He threw using 69 mph arm strength across the infield. He hits from an open stance getting back to being even, also uses an inward turn with his front foot as a timing mechanism, has a fluid hands back to shoulder trigger. Showed the ability to use both parts of the field during his BP session. Line drive type production using exit velocity of 91 mph. He ran a 7.31 60-yard dash.

Nathaniel Bonacuse, 2B/SS, Lakewood, 2015

5-foot-7, 150-pound average body frame. Infielder shows good footwork, plays through the baseball well, more second base type at the next level. Has good quick transfer to release on his throws that reached 68 mph. Offensively from the right-side, he starts from an open stance getting back to being squared up to even, uses a slight hands back trigger. Showed the ability to use the whole field nicely during his round of BP. Reached a top exit velocity of 71 mph. He ran his 60-yard dash at 7.88.

Nick Beck, RHP/OF, NDCL, 2015

6-foot-2, 190-pound athletic build. In the outfield, he shows good footwork playing through the baseball and demonstrated good crow hop mechanics. He reached a top velocity in the outfield of 72 mph. Left-handed hitter starts with a slightly open stance getting back to being squared up. Uses a fluid hands back trigger to shoulder, shows pull tendencies. He swings with an exit velocity of 82 mph. On the he pitches exclusively from the stretch using simple, repeatable mechanics with a straight up and down leg lift. His delivery requires regular effort. He throws with average armspeed through an upper-¾ slot. Throws three pitches for strikes. His fastball was at 76-78 mph. His curveball has gradual, downward break with depth at 65-67 mph. He also throws a changeup using fastball armspeed at 71-72 mph.

Nick Stone, LHP, Westerville Central, 2015

6-foot-1, 165-pound thin build, with room to fill out. His delivery doesn’t require much effort, using good rhythm and tempo. He uses quicker armspeed and throws through an upper-¾ slot with a clean arm action. His fastball was between 81-83 mph. He showed a really good feel for his curveball with gradual break at 1/7 tilt with good depth 66-68 mph as his primary off-speed pitch. I like his projection and pitchability.

Robert Bliss, 2B/C, Wellington, 2015

5-foot-8, 155-pound medium sized body frame. In the infield, he could work on being more aggressive to ground balls hit at him playing through the baseball. He throws using 74 mph velocity across the field. From the catcher’s position he could improve his pop times by staying lower on his throws through second base as he has a tendency to stand up early. He has very accurate throws to second base reaching pop times between 2.20-2.28 while using 69 mph velocity. Left-handed hitter starts from a balanced set up using a fluid hands back to shoulder trigger. Has simple, repeatable swing mechanics, and did a good job using the whole field during his round of BP. He reached a top exit velocity of 74 mph. Ran the 60-yard dash at an 8.05.

Tanner Corder, C, John Glenn, 2015

6-foot, 170-pound average body frame. From the crouch, he could improve by staying more closed up in his stance before he throws to second, he has a tendency to stand up early on his throws also, he could improve his pop time by staying lower on his throws throughout. He throws using 71 mph velocity reaching pop times between 2.26-2.30. Offensively, he hits from a tall stance, uses a leg kick for added power, no hands trigger, showed the ability to use the whole field nicely during his round of batting practice. Line drive type production using 80 mph exit velocity. He also ran a 7.47 60-yard dash.

Trevor Anderson, SS/RHP, Lima Shawnee, 2015

6-foot-1, 150-pound thin build with room to fill out. Infielder, shows good footwork and smooth actions playing through the baseball, fields out front nicely with his hands. Throws with 75 mph velocity across the field. Offensively, he hits from a tall open stance, getting back to being squared up to even, he also uses a fluid hands back to shoulder trigger. He reached a top exit velocity of 81 mph. He ran his 60-yard dash at 7.75. On the mound His delivery requires regular effort. He throws using average armspeed using a long arm action through a ¾ slot that comes from his ear. Struggled with control at times. His fastball showed some tailing movement at times between 73-75 mph. He threw his curveball at 57 mph with loopier downward gradual break. His changeup showed some tailing movement similar to fastball using fastball armspeed at 65-67 mph.
