PBR Spotlight Game: #10 Elyria Catholic vs Bay

No. 10 Elyria Catholic played host to Bay in a game that was locked in a pitcher’s duel between Mark Fischer (Bay, 2017) and Andrew Abrahamowicz (Elyria Catholic, 2017), with a score all tied up at one run apiece through the first four innings of play.

Elyria Catholic starter Andrew Abrahamowicz went four innings allowing one unearned run on three hits, one walk, and four strikeouts. Bay's starting pitcher Mark Fischer went six innings giving up just one run on two hits, two walks, one hit by pitch, and four strikeouts.

The game would ultimately end with Bay earning their first win of the year over Elyria Catholic with a final score of 5-1.

Bay would make their run in the top of the sixth inning, scoring four runs off relief pitcher Colt Schuler (Elyria Catholic, 2016) on three hits, and one hit batter.

The inning got started with a leadoff single to right-field from clean up hitter, first-baseman Chris Francati (Bay, 2015) who led the Rockets going 3-4 with three singles on the day.

A hit batter, bunt single, and an error by the Elyria Catholic shortstop allowed two runs to score. Catcher Matt Tashjian (Bay, 2016) then cashed in on an RBI single up the middle adding another run to Bay’s lead.

Finally, left fielder Stephen Krauser (Bay, 2015) ripped an RBI double over the Elyria Catholic left fielder to make it 5-1 in favor of Bay.

+ Andrew Abrahamowicz: Andrew went four innings allowing one unearned run on three hits, one walk, and four strikeouts.

+ Mark Fischer: Mark went six innings giving up just one run on two hits, two walks, one hit by pitch, and four strikeouts.
