PBR Spotlight Game: #11 Elder 3, LaSalle 2

Cincinnati — A great GCL match-up at Panther Athletic Complex (PAC) featured the 11th ranked Elder Panthers (3-0) hosting the LaSalle Lancers (2-1).

The game lived up to the hype, as a pair of Miami (OH) commits went head to head on the mound.

For LaSalle, RHP Nick Ernst (Ranked 19th in Ohio’s 2015 class) toed the rubber.

The 6-foot-3, 190 pound righty was impressive from the start, going six strong innings. Ernst struck out two on the day.

For Elder, RHP Shane Smith (Ranked 40th in Ohio’s 2015 class) took the ball and went six innings giving up two runs while striking out three.

LaSalle jumped on the board first in the 6th inning with a RBI single from Lake Erie commit Nigel Williams. Then added another run in the top of the 7th.

Elder did their damage in the bottom of the 7th run with 6 hits before chasing Ernst out of the game. Elder would eventually pull out the victory on a pass ball to give the Panthers a 3-2 victory.
