MASON, OH - The 4:30 Wednesday match-up featured two Greater Miami Conference foes. Prasco Park's Legacy Field (home of PBR Ohio's Top Prospect Games) hosted Sycamore and Middletown.

Middletown Middies turned to ace of the staff, Andrew Burton (University of Northwestern Ohio Commit) in hopes to knock off an experienced Sycamore squad.  Carrying fourteen seniors, Sycamore sent crafty left handed pitcher Mark Tenenholtz to the mound.

Sycamore grabbed an early 1-0 lead in the first inning, and they never looked back.

In the bottom half of the second, Sycamore senior Greg Simpson (pictured right) stroked an RBI single to right field giving a Aves squad some extra cushion.

Sycamore's Mark Tenenholtz  was able to cruise through the Middies lineup, as he kept many hitters off balance with his fastball/curveball combo.

Looking for more insurance runs, Sycamore was able to manufacture a run in the bottom of the fourth. Greg Simpson recorded his second RBI of the day when he plated Senior Captain Ben Gunn.

With a 3-0 deficit, Middletown knew they needed to get on the board soon.  In the sixth inning pitcher Andrew Burton helped his own cause when he walked, and came around to score on a throwing error, shrinking the Sycamore lead to 3-1.

The Aves came right back, and put up one of their own in the bottom of the sixth.  Simpson recorded his third RBI on the day when he smashed a double in the gap, putting the Aves back up three runs.

The Middies threatened in the seventh loading the bases, but couldn't come through as Mark Tenenholtz shut the door recording a complete game victory.

The Aves stay undefeated as they move to 5-0.
