TN: JUCO: Roane State Intersquad

On Saturday, Roane State held their first inter-squad of the year. We were on hand to get a look at the returning players and the incoming freshman. Below are notes on select players (check out the Twitter feed for some video highlights!):
Sophomore Pitchers

LINCOLN BOWMAN / RHP / GREENVILLE CHRISTIAN ACADEMY, TN / 2016FB (83-86, T87), CB (73-77), CH (79) 6-0, 200-pound sophomore showed off 2 swing and miss pitches, generating 4 of 8 swing and misses on his primary FB-CB mix. Medium, athletic profile w/ present lower half strength, some physical projection. Pitches from a full wind-up into over the top to H 3/4 release from the third base side of the rubber. Simple, repeatable delivery. Occasional downhill plane. FB shows short arm-side run at times, short cut at others. Power CB w/ tight rotation, depth w/ late bite. Swing and miss offering. CH w/ arm-speed, short fade and sink. Around the zone w/ 3-pitch mix. Flashes ability to command, likes to work to his glove-side corner, stay on the black. Has an idea of how to subtract from the breaking ball for strikes, bury as a put-away pitch. Projects to command.
