In 2012, the Aurora Greenmen compiled a record of 19-6 with an impressive 10-0 record in the ChagrinValley Conference.

This year, expectations are high with seven returning starters and five returning pitchers. First year Head Coach Tim Deering and his squad have their sights set on a Division I district championship and beyond.

Class of 2013

  • SS Jake McVay – The 6-foot-1, 200-pound prospect hit .492 with 23 RBI and 17 walks last year. Because of his success of the gridiron, he has received offers to play college football, but the shortstop, who has started since his sophomore year, is flying under the radar for baseball.
  • OF Tyler Thomas – The 5-foot-10, 195-pound Ashland recruit hit .403 with 19 RBI and six doubles. The leadoff hitter will start in left field.
  • RHP Adam Berger – The 6-foot-4, 145-pound righty has a low 80’s fastball with a hard slider.
  • 1B/RHP Jake Czerwinski – The 6-foot-3, 175-pound righty hit .343 with 16 RBI and six doubles last year. On the mound, he uses a low 80’s fastball combined with a slider and changeup.
  • UTL Pat Horan – The 5-foot-11 prospect will be counted on for his bat in the middle of the order. Last year, he hit .409 with 10 RBI and two doubles.
  • OF Paul Pistone – The 6-foot-2, 175-pound prospect will likely man one of the outfield spots in 2013. He will likely hit somewhere between four through six in the lineup.

Class of 2014

  • OF Kirk Janoch – The 5-foot-11, 160-pound prospect is the fastest player on the Greenmen roster. He will hit at the top of the order after hitting .364 in the leadoff spot as a sophomore.
  • Catcher Griff Peterson – The 6-foot-2, 210-pound is expected to add a bigger role in 2012 after backing up Frank Sivillo in 2012. In 44 at bats last season, he hit .294.
  • LHP Luke Calcei – The 6-foot-1, 190-pound southpaw started three games as a sophomore last year.

Class of 2015

  • SS Matt Carpenter – The 5-foot-8, 135-pound infielder will find himself in the middle infield with his strong defensive skills.
  • RHP/OF Alex Smerciak – The 5-foot-10, 165-pound prospect is a hard throwing righty that will push for time in the pitching rotation. His offensive and defensive skills will likely find him fighting for time in the outfield.
