Preseason Preview: Bloom Carroll HS

Coach Brian Thacker is developing Bloom Carroll into a regular contender amongst the state’s top Division III level teams.

Coming off a 23-7 record along with a Mid State Buckeye Division Championship, the Bulldogs return a young, talented squad. While six players return in the everyday lineup, the team will need to develop pitching behind senior ace Jake Newton.

Coach Thacker and his squad will defend their league title against the likes of Canal Winchester, Teays Valley, and Hamilton Township.

Class of 2013

  • IF/RHP, Jake Newton – Three year starter and the ace of the staff
  • SS/2B, Levi Fetherolf – Three year starter that hit over .400 the last two seasons
  • RHP/IF, Blake Smith – Will serve as the number two pitcher on the staff after earning all league honors last season.

Class of 2014

  • C, Jarrett Peters – The Division I prospect will anchor the defense and provide a spark in the lineup with his bat and speed.
  • RHP/UTL, Tyler Sorg – Contributed the past two seasons on varsity, but will need to take on a bigger role as a junior.

Class of 2015

  • OF, Roger Danison – The left-handed hitting Division I prospect started as a freshman and continues to get develop his skills and strength.
  • RHP/IF, Sam Bordner – One of the state’s top sophomore prospects will have to sit out this season after transferring from his previous high school.
  • RHP, Cory Stanley

Class of 2016

  • OF/1B, Seth Paszke
  • P/1B/C, Jacob Robinson
  • RHP/IF, Alex Seagraves
