Q and A with 2014 Adrian Commit: Scott Carter (Watterson HS)

Scott Carter, C, Watterson HS, Class of 2014

PBR: Why did you choose Adrian?

Carter: I loved the winning tradition, the facilities, the outstanding coaching staff, and the ability to strive on and off the field.

PBR: What other schools were you considering?

Carter: my decision mainly came down to Adrian and Alma College, there were a fee others I talked with but those were the top two.

PBR: Where did Adrian first see you? How did your relationship develop with the coaching staff?
Carter:  Honestly I'm not sure where they saw me, but they told me they had seen me play. When I went up for my visit I connected really well with all of the coaches. They were all very inviting and I could tell they were very interested in me.

PBR: What role do the coaches expect you to play your first year on campus?
Carter: we haven't talked about that yet to much, but I know that I want to go in and make an impact on the field right away, Adrain is a very winning program and I would just like to carry on the tradition.

PBR: What summer team do you play on and how has travel baseball helped your development as a player?

Carter:  I play for the North Columbus Bruins. Travel baseball has really taken me and showed me the best talent the Midwest has to offer and has showed me how hard I'm going to have to work to be a top level player.

PBR: Who has had the biggest impact on you as a baseball player?

Carter: My dad without a question. He has done everything in his power to help me succeed, whether it was hitting lessons, new equipment, driving me to tournaments or even taking me to camps, he was always my number one fan.

PBR: Who is the toughest pitcher that you have faced in Ohio?

Carter: That's a tough question; I've faced a lot of great pitchers in Ohio. Honesty I would have to say the toughest pitcher was Nick Longo from St Ignatius. I faced him in a summer game last summer he throws smoke to say the least. I'm looking forward to going against him opening day this spring as well
