From August 2nd through August 5th, PBR Ohio will take a select team of players in the Classes of 2019, 2020 and 2021 to represent Ohio at the PBR Future Games in Westfield Indiana at Grand Park.

Players receive exposure unlike any other event for underclassmen. Last year, 100 colleges from all over the country were in attendance, including coaches from every DI power conference in the country. Only players who have a legitimate shot at being a Division I recruit and who have an interest in the possibility of making a verbal commitment during their sophomore or junior seasons will be considered.

Scouting Report

6/6/17
Powell stood out in all facets of his game at the event. A versatile defender that has an advanced skill set behind the plate and in the middle infield. Time will tell where he ends up but as of now he is well ahead of the curve at both. A right-handed hitter that starts in a tall, open setup. Swing is fluid and he creates a ton of energy in his loading sequence. Swings with intent and the ball gets off his bat well.

8/2/16
5-foot-9, 150-pound athletic frame. Ran a 4.71 from home to first. A talented defender both in the field and behind the plate. At this stage it is hard to say one is ahead of the other. In the infield he has athleticism to his actions with above average glove skills. Moves laterally with ease and can come in to make the play. Also showed off impressive, 83 mph arm strength across the infield. Behind the plate he has efficient footwork with advanced transfer skills. Blocking and receiving skills are also there. Pop times ranged from 1.94-2.06. At the plate he he gets efficient use out of his lower half through an aggressive stride and well timed weight transfer. Bat gets through the zone on a level path with definite batspeed. Used both sides of the field in batting practice, showing gap to gap pop. Registered a top exit velocity of 84 mph. Very good player.
