The Hotlist: Recent Junior Standouts

By Nathan Rode and PBR Staff

The spring is approaching and players have been tuning up at events this winter, showing their potential. Listed alphabetically below are several players from the Class of 2016 that stood out recently. All of them are currently uncommitted.

Matthew Beck, RHP, Alexandria HS, LA
Beck has a big frame at 6-foot-5, 200 pounds with wide shoulders and long arms. He has a clean, fast arm action with some effort and pitches from a 3/4 slot with some tilt and angle. His fastball has been sitting 84-85 mph, but he has touched 90 with late life. His breaking ball has 11/5 shape with decent depth and deception, but it’s still a pitch in development.
