The Ohio Big Board: Top Uncommitted Class of 2016 Catchers

The top two catchers for the 2016 class in the Buckeye state are off the board with No. 2 ranked Ty Duvall (Vanderbilt) and No. 5 ranked Chase Murray (Georgia Tech) each committed to big time schools. However, there are plenty of quality backstops still available in Ohio. Below we would like to highlight seven uncommitted prospects for everyone.

Top Uncommitted 2016 Catchers

 

Nate Monastra, Olentangy, 2016

6-foot-1, 180-pound average body frame. Underclass and Future Games participant and ranked 29th in Ohio’s 2016 class. From the catcher’s position he shows good footwork and a quick transfer on his throws to second, he reached pop times between 1.93-1.98, while throwing with 77 mph velocity.
