UNIONTOWN - Playing quarterback can certainly have an effect on pitching mechanics. After an injury-plagued football season, Paul Troyer has made a few changes that has the Uniontown Lake junior excited about his baseball future on the mound.

“I’ve been working out with Ben Simon, the pitching coach of the Brownlee Lookouts, and he has helped me out a lot,” the right-handed hurler said. “Ben really has showed me there is more than just throwing the baseball off the mound. There is a science behind it. He’s showed me the way to do it correctly.”

Accuracy and velocity have both been on the rise for the 6-1 193-pounder.
