Uncommitted Spotlight: Romans - Freshman Starter To College Recruit

MASSILLON - Starting at shortstop for the Division I state champions as a freshman certainly can prove to be beneficial in the future. Just ask Josh Romans. “It really pushes you,” the Massillon Jackson sophomore said. “We do a lot of conditioning and a lot of what we do is like a college workout. It makes you mentally tough and gets you ready for college.” Schools at the next level have taken notice, with Romans another in the long line of Jackson players being recruited. Ohio University, Kent State, Dayton and Wright State are among those showing an interest in the 6-0 185-pound right-handed hitter, who had a pair of singles and scored two runs in an 8-2 state championship win over Strongsville back in June.. “A lot of the interest came after the Future Games,” noted Romans. “I did really well there and started hearing from colleges that day.” |
