Unsigned Senior Spotlight, Aaron Hoffman (Jackson HS)

Aaron Hoffman, 3B, Jackson HS

Aaron Hoffman is still looking for the right fit.  The senior at Jackson has several college visits set up for the month of May.

After attending PBR’s Unsigned Senior Showcase in February, Aaron has continued to stay in contact with the following schools: Eastern Kentucky, Shawnee State, Capital, Lourdes, Tiffin and Findlay.

Here is what PBR has to say about Aaron:

Solid, thick prospect that registered a 5.52 40-yard dash. In the field, he shows above average hands with room to improve the quickness of his foot-work. He reached a top velocity of 81 mph across the infield. At the plate, he uses a slightly open stance with a short stride. He take a short path to the ball and shows some pop in his bat.

When choosing his college of choice, Aaron says “I have completed a select pre-med program in high school and most importantly, the college I choose must have a solid program that will prepare me for medical school entrance exam.”

The senior carries a 3.45 GPA and he has completed nearly 10 college credit hours.

Hoffman has been the starting third baseman since his sophomore year where he hit for a .400 average for Coach Bill Gamble. He believes that Coach Gamble places a strong emphasis on hard work and respect for the game.

Aaron’s hard work is a year round job, as he works continuously with his hitting instructor and summer coach Greg “Ike” Issacs.

Hoffman feels that his main strength is at the plate.  “I would consider hitting as one of my strengths.  I consider myself a gap to gap hitter who can hit for average with a low strike out to at bat ratio.”

This summer he will once again play for Coach Ike and the Ohio Yankees. They are planning on defending their title of the Worthington/Phoenix Wood Bat Tournament and attending a tournament in Kentucky run by the Kentucky Colonels.
