Quinton Morris C / OF / Moeller, OH / 2019

CINCINNATI - Going north to play baseball is not something many recruits talk about. But for Quinton Morris, the chance to play Division I was too much to pass up.

The date was Sept. 8 when the Moeller senior went on a visit to Wisconsin-Milwaukee.

“They offered that day and I committed on the visit,” Morris noted. “The campus was great and it’s in a nice neighborhood. I like the size, it’s not super big but not small like some of the others I had been to.”

But there was more to the decision.

“They’ve had a lot of success with catchers getting drafted … which is the dream,” the 6-1 211-pounder said.

Whether that materializes remains to be seen, but Morris certainly has qualities that attracted Wisconsin-Milwaukee.

“They like my size and that I can move well for my size,” pointed out Morris. “They also like my arm and that I hit well.”

But what about the weather up north?

“It will be a little cold, but they don’t play in Milwaukee early in the season,” Morris explained. “They play in Florida, at Sacramento State and in Oregon.”
